When Inko turned back to see where this laugh comes from, shw realized it was Mikumo who laughed like that. A dark smile was drawn out of his emotionless face as he seemed to realized something about the case.
As he looked the prosecutor with a cold sight, he talked with a monotone voice.
"So the victim did all those things because he was jealous...? That what you actually try to say, Mr Ishioka Then, what if I say the victim had no reason to be jealous on him in the first place?" said Mikumo.
"Huh, what do you mean, brat?", asked him the prosecutor with an eyebrow raised above his eyes.
"The victim actually died the day after the entrance exam, some hours after the results were publicated on the school board. Alas for you, some informations weren’t communicated to his homeroom teacher at that time. Namely that the student who came to the first place was... IZUKU MIDORIYA HIMSELF!", he said as he pinned the man with an accusatory finger, which made him flinch.
"W-WHAAAAAAAT?!", he exclaimed with a very surprised tone. How could the first place student of such complicated entrance exam can be a quirkless boy? It made no sense.
"D-...Izuku...was the first place...?", asked Katsuki to himself as he also flinched, not believing anything that actually happen in this case. It seemed so unreal to begin with. But he trusted Mikumo despite the hatred the boy had against the blond ash haired boy.
"I-Is this...really true?", asked Katsuki with a low tone while looking to the boy he loves.
"I’m sure you all remembered who actually managed this trial so asking them the results of this exam concerning the victim wouldn’t be complicated. It’s a good thing as we have a witness who can testify about this particular subject on the lobby. Your honor, the defense request to present the pro hero Eraserhead to the court to testify!", Inko asked with a firm and determined tone while looking to the judge. She suddenly see another hope to turn the table.
The former was really surprised at first by Inko son deduction at this point but he regained his stance, agreeing to my request.
"If it can solve the mystery then the court agree with your request!", he replied while swinging his gavel on his desk.
The bailiff opened the door of the courtroom while a black-haired man wearing a black outfit with a grey scarf. The expression on his face seems really tired as his own stance was nonchalant. But both Mikumo and Inko knew he was the most trustable witness they can have in this case.
"Witness, can you please state your name and occupation to the court?", Inko asked with a firm tone while looking to him.
"The name’s Shota Aizawa... but you can call me by my pro hero name, Eraserhead. Not like I care much... that’s not what I was called on," replied the man with a tired yet serious tone.
He stated a fact, we needed to directly talked about the matter of his presence here.
"You’re right, Mr Aizawa. The defense actually stated the victim lacked of a motive to be jealous on the defendant as he was the first place student that passed the exam. Was it right?", asked the judge as the man looked to me, searching my agreement. I nodded as he answered the judge.
"Yes, your honor. Due to the fact the student himself didn’t wanted to be present as that on the records of the entrance exam, the first place student was stated as X. If only we knew it would lead to this incident, perhaps it would have been better to claim his real position..." testified Aizawa with a voice mixed with sadness and rage as he looked to Katsuki.
"With that, I think we have enough evidences to end the debate about if the victim’s death was a suicide or a murder. And subsequently claim that the defendant himself is the real culprit behind this murder!", Inko claimed with a determined tone.
