SIDE STORY 1: Mission

"Did my husband go on a assassination mission alone? Are you kidding me?" I slap my hands on the hokage's desk, "Kakashi, calm down and listen."

Sasuke helps me sit down, how can he stay calm knowing his brother is out there somewhere.

"We only sent Itachi because we know his abilities, but apparently we underestimated the enemy." Itachi's raven leans on his shoulder, what is he doing here. The paper that was previously tied around his paw is found in Naruto's hands.

"Itachi asked to send someone to help him, he didn't say he was in danger. I thought about you and Sakura, even though I originally wanted to send Sasuke, but he's busy with another mission."

"Who is the enemy?" I put my hands in my pockets, I calmed down so I stand at attention. "Some traitors of the Hidden Mist Village, they seem to have stolen some holy relics."

Soon Sakura and I head to the place where the action is taking place, I know Itachi is strong and he certainly doesn't need me, but I can't do anything but worry about him.

"Kakashi sensei", Sakura calls me to make me notice the presence that is approaching us, obviously I had already spotted it, the fact is that I don't care about him. Itachi is my only thought at the moment, I don't care about the others around us.

The man stops in front of us blocking our way, my partner prepares her punch, "I'll take care of him, you go to your husband."

I thank her for the help and continue on my way, I'm sure she'll be able to defend herself, after all, she's the strongest kunoichi in the Hidden Leaf Village.

Itachi's chakra is so weak that I can barely feel it, whatever happened doesn't look good.

I finally come within a few meters of Itachi. He's on a tree branch, one of his eyes is bleeding, he has scratches on his face and one arm is holding his stomach. His breathing is very shallow and his hair is messed up and stuck to his forehead from sweat.

Before committing any action, I analyze the scene well, Itachi is out of strength and approaching him would mean getting both of us into trouble. There's only one figure on the scene, yet he's strong enough to knock out an Uchiha, what's his secret about him?

I don't have enough time to figure out what his abilities are, I can only assume that he can drain chakra, or is simply immune to genjutsu.

Any technique doesn't seem valid against him, I can only use chidori four times due to my low chakra reserve and if this guy is really capable of sucking it I have to attack him from a distance. Right now I'll make a few copies to see how far I can go against him.

Throwing kunai to get his attention, he avoids them by leaping into the air. Then Itachi starts running towards me, "Itachi Uchiha and Hatake Kakashi at the same time, that's a big hit."

The man laughs starting to throw hundreds of kunai in bursts against us, I immediately use the Earth Release to build a wall that can defend both of us.

"Kakashi, why are you alone?" Itachi breathes hard but still manages to keep his feet, "don't worry, Sakura will come soon and heal your wounds."

I take him in my arms and support him behind a tree so that the enemy does not approach him.

"Hatake Kakashi now I understand why you are so popular, don't worry I will try to delete your name."

I avoid the various kunai that are thrown at me, jumping between the trees, there are so many that some manage to touch my skin. This man only uses weapons to attack, what is his real technique?
