I continued my walk, heading back to my apartment until I heard loud music coming from down the hall. I smiled to myself and shook my head as I know exactly who it is. Jisu moved into the building just a few weeks ago and she was already making a racket with her bass. I walked over to her door and knocked loudly which made her stop and mumble to herself before she opened the door but her eyes beamed when she saw it was me. "Minji, what are you doing?" She asked as I walked into the room which smelt of smoke.

"Just having a little walk around." I answered, "you're getting better with the bass."

She smiled as she sat down on the couch and opened a can of drink. "You want one?" She asked and I shook my head.

"Did you know about the guy moving in?" I asked her as I sat down next to her.

She nodded, "I did, what's he like?"

I sighed. "He's shy, but... broken I guess. Something happened to him to make him hate himself."

"Bless him." Jisu said, "but is he handsome?"

I chuckled and shrugged my shoulders. "Yeah, I guess." It felt wrong to admit it out loud. He seems like someone who is going through a lot. "Anyway, are you doing anymore gigs?"

"I have one tonight." She said and checked the time. "Shit, I'm late for work." She got up from the couch and started pacing around. "Make sure to turn everything off before leaving, gotta love you and leave you." She said before walking out the door.

She trusts me in her room. Which is weird since we only know each other in such little time. Jisu is a bit older than me, but once we met, we clicked instantly.

I sighed as I got up from the couch, turned off the light and walked out back to my apartment.

Doyung was asleep in his bedroom when I got back so I decided to put on some lunch for both of us.

I took out the packet of noodles and started cooking them in the pot. I diced up some carrot to add as a topping and then took out the noodles and put it into two bowls beside me and added the carrot on top.

I placed Doyung's bowl in the microwaves so he could heat it up when he wakes up and I made my way up to the roof again.

I opened the door to see the boy again, sitting on the ledge this time with his feet dangling over the edge. "You're back." I announced as I walked towards him and sat down beside him. He looked up at me and then back out to the city.

"You are too." He said quietly as I slurped up some noodles.

"Want some?" I asked and he shook his head.

It was quiet again as the wind blew past us and the sound of cars driving past. "I didn't get your name earlier." I said.

"Hyunsoo." He answered bluntly.

I nodded. "Nice to meet you Hyunsoo."

Again, silence swept by.

"Are you from around here?" I asked him, "what made you move to Green Home?"

"My parents." He replied, not turning to look at me.

I knotted my eyebrows in confusion. "Your parents... kicked you out?"

It took a second for him to answer back. "They died."

Shit.

"I'm so sorry." I said quietly and looked down at my bowl

I felt bad because I didn't know what to say to him. I wanted him to feel better. "It's gonna be ok." I told him, "it will get better."

He finally looked at me. "Will it?"

I gave him a small smile. "I promise."

A minute passed and I was till eating my lunch. "What about you?" He asked which caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting him to say anything.

"Pardon?" I questioned.

"What's your life story?"

I gave it a second and then placed down my bowl. "Uh, when I was fourteen, my parents were murdered right in front of me and now my brother hates me for it."

"Now I'm sorry." He said gently. I shook my head.

"Don't be, it was four years ago, I'm not dwelling on it too much anyway."

He looked back at the city as I finished my bowl. "I'm sure they were lovely people." He said quietly and I nodded.

"They were, once, my mum bought a homeless guy a new apartment and clothes and dad usually gets compliments for how lovely he is."

"Then they had you." He said and I turned my head to look at him and I couldn't stop the heat rising in my cheeks. "Then they had me eighteen years ago."

He gave me a smile and then turned his head away.

"My brother was born in Busan, he's twenty now, he doesn't care what I do or how I'm doing."

"I don't have any siblings, my sister died in the car accident as well."

Double shit.

"You're lucky to have your brother."

I gave out a weak chuckle and turned away from him. "I better check if he's awake, I'll see you later." I told him as I stood up and walked back to the door and closed it on my way out.

I just told a boy I met a few hours ago my whole life story. And he told his.
