I sat in the arcade, feeling the dried my tears on my cheeks. I couldn't cry anymore. The lump in my throat was there, feeling like I couldn't breath, but the tears wouldn't fall.
The door opened and I couldn't be bothered to see who had come through.
"They're serving food out there." Hyunsoo's voice said. I didn't answer him. I didn't feel the need to answer him. I heard him sigh as he came to sit down in front of me. "Please, you can't stay in here forever." He begged.
"I just want time." I whispered back, not making eye contact with him but leaning my head against the wall. "Please leave me alone."
"Minji-."
"Hyunsoo please. If I go out there they're all going to give me sympathy and that's something I don't like and can't deal with, so please, just leave me alone in here, I'll come see you when I'm ready."
"I'll stay with you. You don't need to look at anyone, just ignore them and pretend it's just me and you in the room. You need to eat. We don't even have to eat in the same room as them."
I let out a shaky exhale before I reached for his hand and gripped it tight so he could lead me the way.
We both walked in silence. None of us wanted to say anything to each other. None of us needed to say anything to each other. It wasn't awkward, it was more comforting to me, knowing that he doesn't give me pity. I liked that about him. He went through the same so he would know.
He held my hand all the way where everyone was getting food, the only time he let go was to get me a tray and I took it with both hands and then walked over to Mrs Son who had made the food and was serving it out.
"Minji-." She started but then stopped. I glanced up at her to see that she was looking at Hyunsoo, but he had his head down looking down at his tray.
Once my food was dropped on my tray I turned to see that people were starting at us but then looked down again when I caught them.
I scoffed at their behavior and walked out of the room and down the hall. I heard someone chase after me and I knew it was Hyunsoo since they didn't say anything. "Where are we sitting?" He asked and I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm going back to the arcade." I replied and turned down the hall.
"I'll come with you."
"Please don't." I told him softly. "I just need to be alone right now."
I didn't want to see his reaction. I just turned away from him without letting him say anything else and back to the arcade.
I don't think I was asleep for long. I didn't get to finish eating but it was cold now, I won't be able to enjoy it as much now.
That's what I like to do. I like to sleep to get away from reality. When my parents died that's all I ever did.
"You're awake." Hyunsoo said from across the room, startling me. "How are you feeling?"
I shrugged at his question as he moved closer to me and sat down beside me and put an arm around my shoulders and pulled me to his chest. "It's going to be fine." He whispered. "Don't do anything silly and you'll be fine."
I started sobbing into his jacket. "I want all this to be over already." I cried as I snaked a hand up his neck and held him closer. "I want to get out of here already. I want things to go back to the way there were before."
I heard him sniff. "So do I." He said shakily. "But all we have is each other and that's all I need to get through this. I only need you to get through this."
I pulled my face away from his chest and up to his neck. "I need you too." I whispered. "Please don't leave me."
He kissed the top of my head. "I don't plan on going anywhere."
I'm so sorry this is a short chapter but
