Hyunsoo went to get some more food for me and him after I had calmed down then I heard a soft strumming of guitar coming from outside.
I slowly got up to go inspect it and saw Jisu playing her guitar just down the hall. She must've heard me coming because she stopped and looked up at me. "Hey." She greeted softly as I sat down next to her. I smiled and glanced down at the tuners on her acoustic. "What are you playing?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Something I just came up with."
"Do you have a name for it yet?"
She smiled to herself as she looked down at the instrument in her hands. "Sweet home." She answered softly. I love it. This home isn't exactly sweet at the moment, but it used to be.
She started strumming the same piece again and I closed my eyes and listened to it carefully. It was calming. Relaxing. Peaceful. Beautiful.
I felt someone sit down next to me and I opened my eyes to see Hyunsoo and I interlocked or fingers together and gripped his hand tightly and rested my head against his shoulder. "I haven't heard music like this in a while." He said.
"I found it in the corner, I was just improvising." Jisu said as she placed the guitar down and scrunched up her face. Hyunsoo leaned forward a little. "Are you hurt?" He asked.
"Don't worry about it." She assured us, "I'm ok. How do you like the song?"
"I love it." I replied and Hyunsoo nodded in agreement.
I haven't walked around in a while, I was keeping myself isolated in the arcade away from everyone.
Eun-yoo sped by me without saying anything and I thought nothing of it until I saw a lot of people gathered around plastic sheets. I raced over to peek through someone's shoulder to see a pale looking Jisu on a bed. I pushed through the crowd and raced to be next to her. "What happened to her?" I cried.
"How long have you been in pain?" Eun-Hyuk asked her, ignoring me.
"I'm fine." She answered. He pressed down on a spot on her lower stomach and she groans loudly from the pain. He slowly removed it and she groaned again. "I think it's appendicitis." He said, answering my question from before but also telling her.
"How would he know that?" Someone asked.
"We were poor, but he still got into med school." Eun-Yoo answered coming back and pushing past them and standing next to me.
"What should we do?" Su-Yeong asked.
"She'll be ok." Eun-Hyuk told her.
"Golden hour is running out on both sides." Mrs Son said.
I looked up at her then saw Hyunsoo standing near the wall.
"If her appendix bursts, bacteria will spread out through her body." Eun-Hyuk explained.
"She'll need surgery." Jae-Heon said. He looked more worried then all of us.
Eun-Hyuk sighed. "I'm not qualified for that."
Eun-Yoo stood up. "So you're not going to do anything about it?" She sounded angry. "Figure it out! Do whatever you can I need to get even with her!"
"So there's a chance I might die?" Jisu asked really quietly from behind us.
"Yeah." Eun-Hyuk replied. "There's a higher chance of dying than surviving."
Jisu nodded. "If I don't get a say, I'm going to die anyway."
