Chapter Twenty

Mrs. Rivers, I really like the sound of that. I never thought that I’d be married to a werewolf, let alone an alpha. On second thought, I never thought that I’d be married at all. I’ve grown up being called, “the ugly duckling”, “a nobody”, “stupid”, “good for nothing”, “worthless and much, much more. And here I am with this amazing and wonderful man, who loves me and fights for me. The one that I call husband.

Someone who vows to protect me, even if it means putting his life at stake doing it. I’ll never understand why my own family didn’t want me. Why they missed treat me.

Did I do something unknowingly to hurt them?

Cause if I did, I’m so sorry. I always wanted to know what’s it is like to have your parents love; the thought stills haunt my mind. I didn’t ask to be born. Did they see something in me that threatens them? I don’t know, and I really don’t care. Because if they loved me, they wouldn’t have treated me differently.

Ever since I’ve entered the world of werewolves, that I never knew existed. I’ve found a place I can call home. I’ve found a family and I’ve found friends and they showered me with love, lots of it. It’s not always easy being married to an alpha, they have a very short temper, but I love him anyway. There is always a threat or some kind of breach that is going to need solving. But when trouble comes, we stand together and tackle it as a team, as one.

Justin proved himself to be such an amazing husband and mate, meeting my needs whatever they are. All I care about now, is him and my new family. The ones who were there for me since the first day I met them. Who sees me for me and treats me like a person.

They don’t call me names like the outside world. They don’t even care that I’m their human Luna. I was welcomed with open arms, and they accepted me as one of their own. Ever since I said “I do” I felt a sense of belonging, peace, a new me waiting to explore the world.

Refreshing.

This is where I am meant to be. To this pack, I’m Riley Grace Rivers their Luna, friend and family but to the outside world, I’ll forever be…. THE OUTCAST.
