As Loki strolled down the fancy hallways, he could tell something was off. The soldiers and servants were all gawking at him like he had blown up a whole planet or something super wrong. But he hadn't done anything that crazy lately - he had toned down his mischievous pranks. So, it couldn't be his fault. Plus, he hadn't heard of any big fights between the realms, so this must be a new problem causing all this chaos.
Loki was moving through the corridors and getting closer to the royal room, where he knew his father would be. However, as he approached the excessively huge doors, Loki passed a beautiful bench with two royal guards stationed nearby. Looking through them, Loki could see a youngster with a bowed head and staring at the floor. Loki dismissed this and raised his head once more before commanding the door guards to open the doors for him.
.
Odin, the Allfather, presided over the council members who were sitting around a massive table in the room. His mother sat next to him. High-ranked generals and representatives from all of Asgard made up the remaining members, who all turned to face the God as he entered the room.
"Loki", Frigga called out as she got up from her chair and hurriedly approached her youngest son. She shoved the enormous chair back with such force that it squealed. "Mother, what is wrong?" her youngest son called as she approached him gripping her arms on him. Loki questioned while clinging to her upper arms; it was pretty unusual for him to see his mother at what appeared to be a council meeting; he was well aware of her dislike of most of the participants, which prevented her from regularly attending such gatherings. At this point, Odin had stood.
His mother, Frigga, couldn't speak much, her mind not sorted out or getting around to the news she had just heard.
"Did you see your brother?" Was all she could say, not knowing what else to say, her mind also wanting to know where Thor was. She couldn't bring herself to tell Loki the news at this moment, and then she also had to tell Thor later on, even when it didn't affect him nearly as much."My brother, no, what's going on?" Loki questioned once again as he turned to face his father, observing the conversation. When his mother started worrying him, Loki realised there was a severe problem. Fortunately for him, the doors suddenly opened once more. His brother Thor entered the room directly and attracted much attention from those present.
"Mother, father, what is this about?" Thor asked after briefly looking at who was in the throne room. He realises the urgency within the atmosphere.
"Did you see that boy outside?" Odin asked, now walking around from the table slightly closer to his family—the rest of the members remaining seated. Odin asked the pair, which bubbled up the confusion in both Thor and Loki's minds, not to mention Frigga not leaving Loki's side.
"That young boy, yes", Thor said calmly, not knowing why this was relevant. He did take note of the young boy; when he asked the guards about the child, they informed him that they couldn't disclose any information about him. Even with Thor, the future king, the two guards would not tell him what the child was there for.
"Loki?" Frigga asked, looking up into his eyes.
"I did. Why?" Loki replied, directing this answer to his mother. He is doing this to settle her visibly stressed and frantic mood. Loki also applied more firm pressure to her arms to soothe her state.
"Mother, are you alright?" Thor asked as he made his way over to his shaken mother. Neither he nor Loki had ever seen their mother act like this. To them, she was one of the most put-together women they knew, not to mention how wise she was, her always being the one to give them sense under challenging times.
Frigga turned to look at her eldest son and shakily nodded at him, not leaving Loki's side. She did let out a quiet "I'm alright" to soothe her two children, who she knew were concerned for her wellbeing.
