FOREVER'S NOT ENOUGH

For a while, Chix thought she was alone in admiring the carving on the
" special tree." For almost two months now, it became her habit to drop by at the park after she visits Angel from the hospital. Staying at the park somehow helps her put her mind at ease. It makes her smile remembering Angel's happy memories as a child. She loves the "SunGel" carving a lot.

She turned around to find Sunny trying her best to give her a smile. It's only now she was able to look at her closely and she could tell how Sunny is pretending that she's okay though her eyes clearly say she's not. Also, she lost some weight in having to cope with Angels' situation. The ordeal of seeing Angel almost lifeless everyday has taken its toll on her. That made Chix feel the agony even more.

"I did the carving and Angel loved it so much, she kissed me after that." Sunny's voice was starting to crack as she points to the tree.

Chix wiped the tears in her eyes and she turned around again to give the carving a final look. She nodded, "it's beautiful. Just like the two of you... You look so beautiful together. You were meant to be together."

"How I wish mommy was just like you... It would have been easier if she supported us." Sunny put her arm around Chixs' shoulder. She let out a bitter smile and Chix saw that.

"Hey... Don't be like that. Aom had her own reasons and we should respect that. One good thing was we were able to help her realize that whatever happened between you and Angel was purely out of love and not for the sole reason of hurting her feelings. Maybe it was too late, but we all know she's sorry now. " Chix let out a sigh while stroking Sunny's hair.

"Have you forgiven her?" Sunny was not able to control the tears in her eyes from falling. Chix looked away. Suddenly, she felt a lump in her throat.

"It's not her fault. It was an accident. But you know what? Everytime I look at Angel not knowing when is she gonna come back to us, I can't help but find something or someone to blame for what happened to her, and I'm sorry if sometimes, I blame Aom. " Chix shook her head. She let out a bitter smile.
" I'm sorry, that is childish, I know. But can you blame me? My baby is a loving daughter. She's too kind she can't even hurt a fly. That is why I keep on asking God, why? Why did it happen to her? It's not fair , right? " Chix looked at Sunny straight in the eye only to be crushed seeing her crying hard. She hugged her. " I'm sorry... I'm really sorry this is happening to us." She was rubbing Sunnys' back.

"I know you and mom already talked. I just hope you find it in your heart to finally forgive her because she's suffering too. I love mommy so much and to see her everyday being consumed by guilt, it hurts me a lot. " Sunny closed her eyes. She hugged Chix much tighter.

" In time, Sunny... You just don't know how much I wish for that day to come sooner. But, I need more time. We all need time to heal. " Chix let go of the hug, then she kissed Sunny's forehead.

"Hey... We're supposed to be resting at this time. We even skipped our Sunday get together with your family because we thought we needed a break. " Tina hugged Aom from behind while the latter kept on organizing what's inside their closet. It was obvious Aom just ignored what Tina was saying, she kept on putting out her clothes and laid everything on the bed. Tina breathed heavily. She knew exactly what was going on with Aom, but she didn't give up. She gave it another try...

" Mommy , can you take a rest for a while. " Tina hugged her wife again, then she gave her a peck on the cheek. She tried pulling Aom away from the closet but it surprised her when Aom just shoved her hand away. " I'm sorry if I'm being pushy, I just felt like you're doing it again. You're torturing yourself again, mentally and physically. You've been working beyond your hours all six days of the week when you have your people at the store who can make things easier for you. I don't know why you keep on drowning yourself with too much work. And look at you, you're skinny. You look pale and the worst thing is, you're not talking. All these affect us too. I can't take this anymore. You've been shutting me down for almost two months. I want you to know that I'm here. I'm here for you, Aom... You can just tell me whatever's running in your mind. We can talk it out. For better or for worse, remember? " There was a crack in Tina's voice. She looked so frustrated, and Aom saw that. Tears fell from her eyes.
