DEADLY TRICKS

Characters:
Sam - The group's outgoing and charismatic leader.
Jen - Sam's love interest, smart and resourceful.
Mike - The funny and carefree friend.
Liz - The daring and adventurous friend.
Alex - The introverted and observant friend.
Killer - The masked, silent killer.

(Scene: A dark living room decorated for a Halloween party. The room is dimly lit with flickering candles. Sam, Jen, Mike, Liz, and Alex are dressed in Halloween costumes, chatting and laughing.)

Sam: (raising a glass) Cheers, everyone! Happy Halloween!

All: (toasting) Happy Halloween!

Mike: This party is lit, Sam!

Liz: I can't believe we managed to get this place decorated so quickly.

Alex: I've got to hand it to you, Liz. These cobwebs and spooky props are pretty realistic.

Jen: (to Sam) You did a great job organizing this party, Sam. Although, I must admit, I'm still a little creeped out by the decorations.

Sam: Don't worry, Jen. It adds to the Halloween vibe. (pauses) Hey, where's Tom? He said he would be here by now.

Mike: Knowing him, he's probably trying to come up with a last-minute costume idea.

(Scene: The party continues as they laugh and dance. The room grows darker, and eerie music can be heard faintly.)

Sam: (looking concerned) Did anyone else notice that the music just got spookier?

Liz: Maybe it's part of the playlist you prepared, Sam?

Jen: (listening keenly) No, it sounds different. Like it's coming from outside.

Alex: (whispering) Did anyone else notice that there's a figure standing outside the window?

(All freeze momentarily, then quickly turn to look out the window. The Killer stands motionless, staring at them.)

Mike: (whispering) Who the heck is that?!

Sam: Stay calm, everyone. It's probably just someone from another party.

(Scene: The group continues to watch the figure, anxiety growing.)

Alex: Guys, I think we should call the police. This doesn't feel right.

Sam: You're right, Alex. Better be safe than sorry. Everyone, stay together.

(Jen discreetly dials the police while still keeping an eye on the figure outside.)

(Scene: The masked Killer suddenly vanishes. Everyone breathes a sigh of relief, thinking the danger has passed.)

Mike: (releasing tension) Woo! I can't believe how creepy that was.

Liz: I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest.

Jen: (holding up her phone) Police are on their way. Let's try to enjoy the party while waiting.

(Scene: The music gets louder again. Suddenly, the lights go out.)

Sam: What's happening? Who turned off the lights?

(Chaos erupts as everyone screams and scrambles.)

(Scene: The lights flicker back on. The Killer is standing ominously in front of the friends.)

Sam: (defiantly) Alright, you sicko! What do you want?

Killer: (silently points at Sam, then at Jen)

Jen: (whispering to Sam) They want us, Sam. We need to stick together.

(As the Killer slowly moves toward them, tension fills the room. The police burst in just in time, apprehending the Killer.)

(Scene: Police officers are interviewing the friends, ensuring their safety.)

Officer: You were lucky tonight. This masked person has been targeting Halloween parties in the area for weeks.

Liz: Sam, your quick thinking saved us.

Alex: We owe our lives to Jen and Sam's bravery tonight.

(Scene: The friends, tired but relieved, gather together.)

Mike: Well, that was one hell of a Halloween.

Sam: (smiling wearily) As long as we have each other's backs, we can survive anything.

(They all nod, holding one another close, grateful to have survived the terrifying night.)
