When Tas awoke the next morning, he proceeded to wake Fizban up, for he was in need of water and being a Kender had only brought his pouches along with him. As Fizban made two glasses appear, he told Tas,"Make yourself useful" then handed Tas the crystal jug full of water. Tasslehoff proceeded to pour the water, making the first glass, then filling it to the brim. When he moved to the second glass he spilled half of the remaining water, causing him to jump back. He then spilled the half that was left all over Fizban.
"Tasslehoff Burrfoot! What in the name of the Abyss!" Fizban started only getting angrier while trying to stay calm.
Eventually Fizban dried off, then they resumed their plan. See Tasslehoff Burrfoot was the perfect person for this quest, for he small and could go unnoticed. You could sit Tas next to a stranger of any race and he would end up stealing their wallet or befriending them, though many would not care to befriend a Kender. But Tas and Fizban had been friends for a very long time, since before the War of The Lance to be exact.
As Tas crept into the building, he rounded a corner he saw low-lit torches and black robes huddled in a small group, there were mutterings as if they were discussing something important. One of them cast a quick glance to wear Tas was, but Tas was quick and ducked behind the wall he was looking over. Tas didn't bother to stay and get caught by one of them so he rounded another corner, it was a dead ended hallway. When Tasslehoff neared the wall, he started to rest for he was tired, so he leaned against the wall to rest his small body. He heard a click and stumbled into a passageway, so, being a curious Kender, he followed it. He eventually ended up in a giant corridor, where there sat old doors leading to different rooms. Tas ran up and checked each one realizing that they were all locked, he jumped up getting very excited.
"More lock picking for the Kender" he said, excitement in his tone.
He unlocked the first door finding nothing and was very disappointed. He then unlocked the second and it was an old mages room, he dared not go in therefor in fear of what had happened the last time he ventured into a mages courters. The third door contained a chest, which Tas ran over and checked, magically a few bits of gold made their way into Tas's pouches, he then shrugged finding nothing else in the room.
As he opened the door to the fourth, he found a library, though the room looked small from the outside. He went through the books, most of them bound with magic, causing Tas's fingers to get shocked every time he touched one. He finally stumbled onto a book about Kender, as he picked it up the bookshelf started to glide forwards toward him.
"Ahh, crazy cursed Kender book on a floating bookshelf!" Tas shouted jumping back.
He then dropped the book on the floor next to it, to run and hide behind another bookshelf, for he was surprised that crazy cursed Kender books existed and floating bookshelves. He then considered at least inspecting it, considering he wasn't scared of it at all. For he was a very fearless and brave Kender, the only things that had scared him were The Tower of High Sorcery at Wayreth and Lord Soth, for he made Tas just shiver thinking about him. If he were asked about it, he would never admit it, he was a Kender after all.
