A week had passed since I had kissed Megumi on the cheek, and he and I had grown very close. We were like very good friends now, even if Nobara and Yuji said we looked like an old couple. Megumi was always angry and embarrassed by their remarks, and it was fun to watch him get angry with his rosy little cheeks.
It was Friday and Gojo-sensei had given us a job to do as a duo. I headed for Nobara to work with her, but before I could call out to her, she had already snatched Yuji from Megumi's arms.
Megumi and I found ourselves standing there without our current duo.
- "Well..."
He said to himself, rubbing his neck with the palm of his hand.
- "Looks like it's just us."
I said with a sigh, then smiled.
Megumi nodded.
- "Anyway, you like working with me, don't you?"
I said with a proud smile.
Megumi elbowed me in the arm and looked away embarrassed.
- "Come on then."
We had to work in the library so we could research books.
Decidedly, we were all about books.
An hour later, Gojo-sensei announced the end of class. He told us that the project was due on Monday.
- "Shit, we haven't finished..."
I whispered to Megumi.
- "We can always go work at the bookstore."
He looked up at me.
Megumi's hair was even messier than usual, he wore glasses on the tip of his nose and his beige top complemented the colors of his face so perfectly that I couldn't help blushing at his presence.
- You don't mind, do you? Personally, I'm not busy this weekend".
I answered shyly.
He took off his glasses and placed them on the table with a gentle air.
- "How about tomorrow afternoon?"
He shifted his tired gaze from his glasses to me.
- "Y-yes, perfect."
- "Fine."
Megumi stood up, his long, skinny fingers brushing the wood of the table.
He put his things away and waited for me, leaning against the doorframe while everyone else was already out.
- "Hurry up, slug"
He challenged me with an amused look.
I walked over to him and gave him a little punch in the stomach.
- "You're the big slug!"
I ran laughing down the corridors as Megumi ran after me to return the blow.
I was running, taunting Megumi.
- "Well then, who's the slug hahaha".
Until I tripped over a pebble and nearly fell, which made me lose speed.
Megumi then came at me at full speed and made me lose my balance. I took Megumi with me. We were now in a very awkward position, Megumi on top of me with her arms outstretched.
He was red, so red he was ready to explode.
I burst out laughing when I saw him like that.
- "You should see your face hahaha.."
I wiped the tear from my eye.
Megumi sighed and sat down on the floor beside me. I caught my breath and stood up. I held out my hand to Megumi to lift him up, but he knocked me to the ground.
- "Megumi, you're such a child! "
As he stood up and wiped his knees, he gave me a mocking smile.
- "Get your ass up, slugger!"
I stood up wiping the back of my pants and sighed, looking at Megumi.
- "Don't be mad."
He flicked me on the forehead and I returned the favor.
He smiled at me and spoke again.
- "I'm going to go, don't be late tomorrow"
He winked at me and headed for home.

The next day I dressed in the clothes I'd bought at the mall with Nobara and put on a little make-up.
I headed for the bookshop with my headphones on, still listening to the same Megumi book.
I held the shoulder strap of my bag as I strolled through the city streets. I arrived at the bookshop and saw that Megumi was already waiting for me, so I put my headphones back in my bag.
- "I hope I didn't keep you waiting".
Megumi had his headphones on and seemed completely lost in thought, snubbing me.
I shook his shoulder.
- "Megumiiiii"
He took off his headphones and looked at me apologetically.
- "Sorry I didn't hear you."
I let out a small laugh.
- "That's okay don't worry about it"
Noticing his phone screen lit up, I couldn't help but ask what he was listening to.
- "What were you listening to? "
He turned to me.
- "Antigone"
Oh, my heart warmed as I heard the name of my favorite book.
- "And do you like it? "
I asked him curiously.
- "Yes, I love it, I'm halfway through it, I think I'll finish it tonight and let you know what I think".
He smiled tenderly and invited me into the bookshop.
Megumi found one and asked the manager if we could use the computers in the back for research.
- "They're out of order".
She replied coldly.
- "Fine, we'll just borrow this book".
She scanned the book Megumi handed her and handed it back.
We went outside and I looked at Megumi.
- "Where are we going to work? "
I asked him worriedly.
- "Do you have a computer at home? "
- "No... "
The only computer I'd ever had was at my parents' house.
- "I have one at home... "
Megumi avoided any eye contact with me, I could see he was embarrassed.
- "We don't have to you-"
He took me by the hand and led me away.

A few minutes later we arrived in front of a small house in Tokyo.
Megumi told me to wait out front; he'd have to give his father a line first.
I couldn't help admiring the house, which was next to a small river.
- "It's okay, we can go now."
Megumi motioned for me to follow him, so I followed him inside, the decor was simple but the aura of the house was reassuring.
He took me to his room, a room with a clean, simple style, nothing surprising coming from Megumi.
- "I like your room."
I complimented with a smile.
- "Ah, uhm thanks..."
He replied, rubbing his neck.
I noticed he had this tic when he was embarrassed.
- "Oh wait I'll get you a chair, I only have one chair at my desk."
He walked out of the room and left me hanging.
He didn't take long to come back and put my chair next to his.
I hung up my bag and thanked him.
- "Shall we get started? "
- "Yes! "

We worked for a good 2 hours and were just finishing the last question.
When I put the last point on the sheet I stretched and my back cracked.
- "Well, your back's making a lot of noise, Grandma!"
- "Ehhh!!! I'm not a granny!"
I said offended.
- "A cute granny I guess"
He said these words with a sigh that I wasn't sure I understood perfectly.
I looked at him, tilting my head to the side in confusion.
- "What did you say? "
I asked him.
- "You got it, I won't repeat myself."
- "Oohhhh come on Megumi, don't be a killjoy, repeat myself"
I said with a giggle
Megumi pouted, obviously embarrassed by the situation I was putting him in.
I leaned over him, kneeling in my chair.
I poked his cheek.
- "Come on, don't pout."
Megumi made a move to push me away, causing me to lose my balance and fall forward onto his lap.
- "Ouch!"
I rubbed my forehead and straightened my head as I realized the situation.
I looked at Megumi, her face had turned completely red, even her ears.
But she didn't seem to mind.
He was looking deep into my eyes, his gaze as warm and gentle as the first day. I was so taken with his gaze that I hadn't even noticed that his ample hands were resting gently and lovingly on my hips.
- "Y/n..."
His angelic voice echoed like honey in my ears.
His eyes were so... demanding.
I could feel his breath coming closer and closer to me.
He was now brushing my lips.
- "You-"
Megumi was about to ask me something when he was interrupted by the sound of his door opening and a voice calling his name that sounded, to me, familiar.
Megumi had her back to the door and I could see who was standing there.
- "Megumiiii!!! I'm home!"
Gojo-sensei.
It was Gojo-Sensei's voice.
Megumi quickly pushed me back into her chair as Gojo-sensei walked through the door to her room.
- "Oh am I interrupting something? "
He exclaimed with a smirk.
- "Y-You could knock before you fucking enter."
Megumi said in an annoyed and embarrassed tone, he walked to the door and closed it.
- "I'm sorry, I didn't tell you about...this"
- "No worries, it was your choice not to tell me after all"
I got up gathering my things.
- "I'll be off, we were finished anyway"
- "Yes..."
Megumi looked at me dejectedly.
I approached him, leaned on his shoulder to elevate myself and placed a kiss on his cheek.
I was about to open the door when he called out to me in a faint voice and held my arm.
- "Wait!"
Megumi put both hands on my cheeks, and I felt them heat up at his touch.
He placed a kiss on my forehead, his lips soft and pleasant.
After that, he offered to take me home, but I refused. I just wanted to get out and scream at the top of my lungs, I was so happy.
