Megumi had been squatting in my apartment for 3 days, leaving business saying "I'm leaving tonight", and in the end always spending the night.
Our relationship was pretty fuzzy, everything was fluid between us, but how could we describe it? Were we friends? Flirting? I thought about it sometimes, but the question just crossed my mind, I wonder if Megumi was concerned about it too?

I was doing a bit of housework while waiting for him to come home, he'd gone to get some things from his house, and I was thinking of buying him some clothes to leave here...

My phone rang in the room, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"I'll be late, Gojo's lecturing me (¬¬) ".

The notification made me smile unconsciously.

Megumi arrived about thirty minutes later, and I looked away from the TV and knelt down on the sofa to turn to him.

- "So, how did it go? "
He planted a kiss on my forehead as usual, put his spare set of keys on the table and tossed his bag through the doorframe.
Megumi slumped onto the sofa beside me, resting his head on my lap.
- "Bad."
He spoke with a grumpy face.
- "Oh yeah? Explains."
I retorted, moving a strand of his hair that trailed over his face.
I saw Megumi look away.
- "This is embarrassing."
He exclaimed in a small voice.
- "Come on Megumi you know you can tell me anything"
- "He talked about...us."
He pronounced the word "us" softly as if this proclamation disturbed him.
I tilted my head to the side, confused.
- "What did he say? "
Megumi pouted.
- "You don't need to know, it's not important."
He turned his head toward the TV, still leaving it in my lap. I let go when he pouted like that, impossible to get him to spill the beans. I sighed softly as I stroked his hair. I liked the way it was silky and soft, whereas Megumi didn't maintain it that much.
He straightened up and turned to me.
- "Would you like something to drink? "
- "Yes please."
- "The usual, I suppose? "
He spoke with a proud expression and I merely replied with a wink.

Megumi handed me my glass of iced tea.
- "Here ma'am."
- "Thank you, sir."
I took the glass and raised it to my lips.

The next morning, Megumi woke me up quite early. I rubbed my eyes without understanding why.
- "Megumi...what time is it?"
He pulled back the comforter I was snuggling into.
- "Hey--!!"
I exclaimed.
- "Come on, get up now."
Still holding the blanket in his hand.
I sat up on the bed with difficulty.
- "But why..."
I complained.
- "Get up and get ready, you'll see afterwards"
- "Okay."
I responded submissively to his orders.
I dragged my feet to the bathroom.

Megumi didn't need to get ready, he already was for some reason I didn't know. I finished getting ready a good hour later and as I came out of the bathroom I noticed that Megumi was wearing the sweater I'd given him.

- "What a beautiful sweater"
I said ironically.
- "Yes, it was a woman as beautiful as that sweater who gave it to me".
His remark took me by surprise; he wasn't in the habit of paying me this kind of compliment. Feeling myself flush, I left the apartment.
-" You're in a hurry to leave when you don't know where we're going".
Megumi exclaimed, locking the door behind me.
I didn't respond to his annoyed remark, I stuck my nose in my scarf, hiding my burning cheeks. He took my hand from my pocket and we walked to the station.
I wondered where he was taking me. The journey seemed interminable.
"Next station: Tokyo"
The train's voice rang out.
Megumi turned to me and took my hand, walking towards a door.
- "This is for us. "
He said with a smile.
What was he thinking...?
We walked for a good quarter of an hour, finally stopping in front of a museum, and I realized what Megumi had done.
I turned to him.
- "Megumi, you remembered..."
I'd told him about this museum a few weeks ago, but I didn't think he'd go this far.
He opened his arms so I could hug him, which I did.

We entered the museum, and he insisted on paying the entrance fee on the pretext that it was he who had invited me here. I let him, if it meant that much to him.
The visit went relatively smoothly, and after a moment of negotiation I convinced Megumi to take a photo of me to post on my networks. Of course, I took a few shots of him without him knowing, otherwise he'd have killed me.

On our way out, we were approached by an old man.
-" Young couple, come this way!"
Piles of easels, paints, brushes and all manner of junk surrounded him.
I took Megumi's hand and led him towards the man.
- "You're cute together, sit down, I'll paint you".
He pushed us gently towards his stools.
I looked at Megumi who seemed to be as confused as I was.
- "Do a couple pose go kiss each other or I don't know"
The man insisted.
Megumi finally spoke up.
- "But, we're not a couple-"
- "You're lying, kid."
The man winked at Megumi.
I simply took Megumi's hand and shifted slightly towards him. The man smiled, satisfied.

We stayed in the same position for about forty minutes.
- "Et voila! "
The old man exclaimed.
- "Come and see, come and see!"
He waved his hand.
We rushed towards him.

The painting was super nice, the style was semi-realistic, he had done it in such a short time I was amazed.

- "How much do we owe you?"
Megumi broke the silence.
The man shook his head.
- "Nothing at all, just take it and go."
He handed us the canvas and waved goodbye. Megumi discreetly placed a bill on his easel and we left, thanking him again.

- "So what do you think?"
I asked Megumi quietly.
- "That's pretty good"
He replied nonchalantly.
- "We're cute."
I said, holding up the painting in front of me.
- "Hang it in your apartment".
Megumi suggested with a smile.
- "I'm counting on it! "
He grabbed my hand and entangled his fingers with mine.
