You had known Seto since you were children in the orphanage. He was kind of a jerk, bragging about winning this or that. He was good at everything and anything.

You were adopted when you were just five, but you had a lot of freedom at your new house, so you went back to visit your friends often. You and Seto weren't friends until you were about seven, when you started a fight with him about something you can't remember. Anyway, you beat him up after some struggle, and then he started acknowledging you. You always hoped he would.

When you were about ten, he disappeared, you figured he was adopted. As happy as you were for him, there was underlying sadness in your smile. You wondered with a heavy heart if you would ever see him again.

Years later his name started appearing frequently in the news: Genius Boy Seto Kaiba Assumes CEO of KaibaCorp!  Wow. The little boy you has grown to love on the playground had bloomed into this political beast. Never mind that, you knew where he was now. You could find him again, see if he remembered you. You, after all, never forgot him.

You had grown up to be a junior news reporter, so you had a perfect excuse to go and see him at his meeting later that week. He would be addressing the press as to the future of Kaiba Corporation.

After two hours of taking notes on the idea of Card Games on Motorcycles, you snuck backstage to see if you could meet your old friend. Your hands had been shaky the entire night, wondering if he would remember you. He looked just as he did when he was young, but he spoke much sharper, like something inside him had frozen.

The first person you met, rather luckily, was Mokuba. "Hey, no press allowed-" He stopped mid sentence to stare at you.

"Hi Mokie."

"Oh wow, y/n!" The young boy tackled you in a hug at the sound of his childhood nick name. He only allowed you to call him Mokie, though.

"Looks as if you and Seto both grew up rather quickly." You tightened your grip on the boy. "I didn't know if you would recognize me, you were super young when we last met."

Mokuba pulled away. "I was six, it wasn't that long ago."

"So you're twelve now? Wow. Did you come up with the idea of the motorcycle duels thing back in there?"

"Yeah, that was mostly my idea."

You froze when you heard footsteps and a sharp voice down the corridor. "Mokuba, who are you talking to?"

Mokuba gasped. "Hide!" he whispered to you, and you ducked into a closet nearby. "Brother, you wouldn't believe who I found! Or really, who found me." He opened the door, and you stepped out.

The older Kaiba boy was at a loss for words. The shocked expression on his face was so rare it almost made you double over laughing, if you didn't feel the same inside. "Ah, uh, y/n....?"

"Yeah, it's me." You breathed a small gasp of surprise when the long lost friend embraced you. Despite the iciness embedded in his voice, the hug felt so warm.

After the meeting cleared out, the three of you went to a twenty-four-hour ice cream parlor to catch up. Seto shared his story of success, you told of how you became a journalist, and Mokuba enlightened you as to how he learned to fly a helicopter at the age of eleven. You all laughed like  no time had passed at all.

When it was time for the king and prince to return to their empire, you followed them to their limo. Mokie climbed in, but Seto stayed outside with you for a moment longer.

"I... had fun tonight for the first time in a while, y/n." You laughed at his inability to speak.

"To think that all this time, at the center of this corporate giant was the boy I never forgot about."

"I never forgot about you..." You shared another hug.

"So, card games on motorcycles."

"Yes?"

"When you have a prototype, sign me up for testing."

Seto groaned. "That's gone wrong one too many times. How about I buy you the first one when they go on sale?"

"You still think you can beat me at anything?"

"Oh, I'm confident."

"We'll see about that."

"Come on brother, I'm tired!" a third voice interjected from within the vehicle.

"See you around," I waved goodbye as the car sped away. You saw the older Kaiba brother's hand out the window, waving back. From now on, you hoped, it would be just like old times.
