The absolute bombshell of information Maleficent drops on them makes their parents' horrendous moods the past few weeks make a lot more sense.

Auradon.

It makes Seungmin's stomach turn a bit.

"Of course I expect you to steal Fairy Godmother's wand and bring the barrier down. We'll rule again and it will be glorious, isn't that right son?" Maleficent strokes a hand down Seungmin's face, a mockery of comfort as she drags her claws down as well. Seungmin grits his teeth at her, blood from his cheek dripping into his mouth, "I understand mother."

He's not lying, of course, he fully understands what his mother is asking but he'd never willingly free his mother. If Seungmin is going to rule, Seungmin will rule with the boys at his side, but even beyond that Seungmin isn't naive enough to think he'd even get the chance to try to rule.

This isn't the dark ages where their parents ruled with iron fists, this is a newer but just as cruel age.

It's much more likely the people of Auradon will take one look at his pointed ears and sharp teeth and send him packing. These people were willing to imprison children with murders. They can hide behind their ball gowns and fancy crowns all they want, Seungmin is sure they're all just as evil as his mother.

"Your parents have already come with your bags of course, if you think there's anything they missed you better go get it, your transportation will be here in about five minutes," Seungmin's mother bares her teeth at them, a mockery of a smile, as they all start sprinting to their hideout.

"We need the daggers!" Changbin shouts.

"Forget the fucking daggers we need food!" Minho bellows back.

"Forget food we need blankets!" Jisung yells.

"And coats!" Felix unhelpfully adds.

"Enough," Seungmin says quietly and coldly, "In case you haven't noticed, there's enough of us to grab all of that. Everyone grab what you know you need." All the other boys nod, out of breath from sprinting a mile straight.

It's a very bitter feeling walking into the hideout and wondering if it will be the last time they'll ever step foot in the closest thing any of them have ever had to a home.

"I want to say goodbye to Beomgyu," Jeongin whispers as he packs his bag with his prized treasures: all stolen or bartered. For a moment no one responds, it's a confession much too soft for an Isle kid, something that would get one of the others slapped, but no one has ever been able to try to toughen Jeongin up, even if it might be helpful for him in the long run.

"Wooyoung owes me twenty bucks," Changbin sighs regretfully but a bit wistfully. It's really starting to set in. They're abandoning their allies and family here.

"There's really... there's no going back after this huh?" Jisung says, not really a question but not a statement either. Felix pauses from where he's putting his favorite dagger, a terrifying blade covered in rose thorns, in the bottom of his bag, "No, I suppose not." Seungmin considers reminding them their bags will likely be searched but quickly decides it's a battle not worthy of his time.

The next few minutes are filled with frantic packing and melancholy. "Alright, we're out of time, if you missed something, oh well. It's time to go guys," Minho orders brusquely. Slowly all the kids file out but Seungmin hesitates causing Minho to call out, "You coming, Minnie?" Seungmin nods, "I'll be right out hyung, go on ahead." Minho hesitates but does so anyways, trusting Seungmin.

The sign of trust Minho displays makes the guilt in Seungmin's chest grow as he hides his mother's spellbook within his belongings before walking out to join his friends.
