"Kenma, just choose one already. You've been staring at those 2 games for an hour now."
Kuroo rubbed the back of his nape with a smile while waiting for his friend to finally pick out a video game at the video game store they are in.
It is a weekend and they are supposed to play games in Kenma's house, but the first year wanted to buy another game so he was dragged along, in his own will, to the video game store.
Kenma has been contemplating between a shooting game or an adventure game for over an hour now. It's one of the hardest decisions he have to make because he only have the money for purchase 1 game.
"Get yourself busy. I'll just go to the other isle, I saw some interesting magazines there."
Kuroo ruffled Kenma's hair, earning a groan from the latter and a disgusted look.
"It's a sports magazine!! Stop judging me!"
He defended before making his way to the magazines isle, leaving his gamer friend to make the most important decision of his life.
A few more minutes passed but Kenma still can't decide. He's calculating and reasoning out to himself, weighing in the pros and cons of getting a game over the other.
He is a genius. But such decisions should be carefully thought about.
Finally, after another 10 minutes of contemplating, he decided to just get the shooting game with a sigh. He was about to reach out for the game when another hand reached out for the adventure game he's been eyeing.
He wouldn't normally care about anyone but the hand was so quick to grab the game that Kenma looked at the person who just grabbed it.
"Aah finally!"
A familiar first year stared at the game in her hand, admiring the beauty of its cover before noticing the eyes that are on her.
Y/N's eyes widened in recognition.
"Applepi!"
Right, he just remembered that he wasn't able to introduce himself the first time they met. They often play games together, teaming up on ranked games but never really had a proper introduction.
"L/N."
He bowed as well in acknowledgement. Finally introducing himself properly this time.
"You... you like adventure games?"
Y/N nodded with a smile but recognized the look in his eyes. That he also wanted to play the game, because her younger cousins have the same look when they want to play a game in her phone.
Maybe it was because of the same interest, but she is more comfortable in talking to him even though they just used to play online games.
"Do you want to play too? I can lend this to you next time."
It was too easy to read how Kenma's face lit up from the offer and he responded with a nod while hugging the shooting game close to his chest.
He was like a child who was just promised by his parents that they'll buy him a gaming console for Christmas. Y/N can't help but chuckle at his excitement.
"I'll see you in school, Kozume-san!"
Y/N waved goodbye at him after paying for her purchase, and exiting the establishment.
Kenma also decided to pay for his purchase as well where he got a freebie. A lucky day for him indeed that Kuroo noticed the evident smile on his face while they are walking back to Kenma's place.
"You seem really happy with that game, huh? Let's play it once we get home."
"Yeah."
It was a smile that Kuroo recognized everytime Kenma gets a new game. But this time, the latter isn't just excited about the new game alone.
