Apparently, Sachiko (Shizu's Grandmother) didn't have two beds in her guest room, which led to the two Pillars having to share the space. . . Sanemi acted like he would rather rest on the filthy ground instead of sleeping in the same bed with Giyuu Tomioka, yet in the end, he reluctantly agreed.
On the other hand, Giyuu never expected to be drifting off in the exact bed as Sanemi Shinazugawa. It was certainly peculiar that the two Hashira that everyone suspected disliked the other didn't refuse to share a bed. However, Tomioka didn't mind at all in the first place.

Sanemi sat on the left side of the bed, examining the rough scars on his bare hand and wrist. Giyuu was already laying flat on his back on the other side, gazing at the ceiling. He did take a few glances at the purple-eyed man though, remembering his comforting, white haori placed delicately on him.
Giyuu finally shut his eyes, turning to his side, his back facing Sanemi, "I'm going to sleep. . Good night, Shinazugawa-San."
The Wind Pillar rolled his lavender eyes, as if he would ever say anything sweet to Tomioka.

A couple of minutes later, Shinazugawa shut off the lamp near him. The gorgeous blue moon was the only source of light. It mainly shone on Giyuu, revealing how stunning he looked bathed in the luminescent glow.
How could someone so irritating be gifted with such attractive features? At least, that's what Sanemi thought.

Even 50 minutes later, the man could not rest. But, Giyuu was practically knocked out. Sanemi ran his scarred hands through his white hair, wondering where his need of sleep wandered off to.
Sanemi left the bedroom, walking outside, getting a breath of fresh air. He simply stood alone, outside the house, stargazing.

Except when a certain blue-eyed someone stepped outside as well, Sanemi wasn't alone anymore.
"You couldn't sleep?" Giyuu asked him.
"Isn't it obvious? Why else would I be standing outside?" Sanemi scoffed.

The two gazed at the stars, admiring the beauty it held. Or rather, the two were each other's stars. Giyuu kept on staring at Sanemi's scars, wondering when did the man overcome such injuries.
He couldn't help but stare at them. Giyuu was basically attracted to scars. He never found it ugly. He found it beautiful, special. Scars meant you went through something. . .and overcame it. And that was only one of the things that he loved from the Wind Hashira.

"What the hell are you staring at?" Sanemi questioned the Water Pillar. He figured the man was looking at his scars, "Oh, I see. You find it odd, ugly even as you always do—
"Shinazugawa. . ."
"I don't care what you think, Tomioka. You don't understand what happened that night."
". . .I wasn't thinking that, Shinazugawa-San. I. . .I like your scars."

". . ."

"You're lying." Sanemi assumed.
"No. ." Giyuu said.
"Oh please, you barely talk at all— I don't have the slightest idea on what goes in that tiny brain of yours. How can I know if what you're saying is the truth—
"I am not lying." Giyuu protested stubbornly.

Sanemi sighed, "You're annoying."
Yet, both of them knew he didn't intentionally mean it in a rude way.

And so, the two looked back at the stars, finding a bench to sit on. The two Hashira sat next to each other, and although the two brushed shoulders a few times, both felt a fluttering sensation. A desire. Every touch left a seemingly-like, beautiful scar, each one that cannot be forgotten easily.
Finally, Sanemi and Giyuu headed back inside their bedroom. Both laying on their side of the bed. However, the two faced each other, laying on their sides.

The two Pillars brushed hands a couple of times, until Giyuu traced the scars on Sanemi's hand ever so gently. The pair drifted off into a deep sleep.
