Unrealistic expectations

Chapter 6

It was 6:45am and I am heading down towards the cafeteria to meet Haven.

"Hey Haven!"I say as I reach her. "Morning Athena everything alright?" She asks. She can probably tell that something is on my mind. "Yea why wouldn't it be?" I say not wanting to tell her about last night.

"Good because I've got something for us to do tonight"she announces and gives me a look.

I immediately know that she wants to drag me to this party up in the mountains that a senior is throwing. "No no no , no way Haven I'm not going to a party where everyone thinks I'm not sane." I reply back as she gives me a sigh. "Athena my sweet dear Athena ,no one thinks you insane you're just... well very scary. "She says quietly. Scary? People thought I was scary but why? I don't even speak to anyone. "Who the hell finds me scary?"I ask "everyone Athena. It's like your eyes kill, People find it weird that you can manipulate your way into everything and them piercing grey eyes that never have anything but hatred in them also is a big scare towards people"she say almost anxiously.

"That's ridiculous, now I think you're the one going insane" i look around the room and loads of eyes are on me but as soon as I look at them ,they look away. Do people really find me scary but for what?they don't even know me.

I look at Haven who is still begging me ,practically on her knees begging me to go to the party then the guys come over. To of course , help Haven convince me.

"Athena are you seriously not going to the party? Comon everyone will be there "Asher says as he rests his hands on the back off my chair. "Another good reason why not to go"I state with a sarcastic smile on my face. "Just this night and we'll never bother you to come to a party ever again. And no one is expecting for you to be there because you're so... well you know...unsociable"Chris announces almost nervous. I raise my eyebrows up at him as Damien carry's on"unsociable, unapproachable,uncompromising basically all the adjectives that begin with un's. "He states.

I laugh "seriously? Is it not normal to not want to talk to snakes?" I continue "friends are just people who will leave you and then you'll realise that they were never actually there for you. I hardly ever make excuses for people and you's should be grateful that I made an exception"

"But please Athena I need my new bestie to be there"Haven yet goes on. "If I say yes will you leave me alone?"I question "yes!" Haven yells "fine" I except my defeat as Haven jumps up in excitement. How bad can it be?

They all erupt as if they just won some battle or something except Grayson. He kind of just stands there ,without a smile ,just a blank expression watching them celebrate.

The bell for class rings and we all grab our bags and say goodbye before all heading in different directions for our classes.

My first class was English lit and so was Damien's so we walk together. We reach the doors and Damien warns me" be carful with this teacher. She hates all students especially ones like you" he says. I furrow my eyebrows at him as we walk in.

"You are late."an angry voice exclaims , we turn to face the teacher who is looking at us with her arms crossing across her chest as she taps her ugly out dated heels on the floor. "You must be Athena, here look at the seating plan" she hands me a piece of paper with names written all over it. I take a look and hand it back to the teacher as I go sit in the back. I have no idea who the guy was sitting next to me but he was a senior ,for sure.

I sit down next to him as he greats me with a smile that I don't return.

The teacher carries on with the lesson and I notice Damien sitting a row infornt but in the middle isle. I notice he's sat next to a very pretty girl. She has long black hair cut into layers and I got a glance of her face noticing her green eyes and rosey cheeks. Damn shes hot.
