Unrealistic expectations

Chapter 12

I met Cesar Pearson in London , we use to live in the same neighbourhood but I guess now we both moved?

My mum and his mum got along quite well so we had to hang out a lot we were pretty good friends as he was one of the only people who wasn't scared of me in London.

Except before I left for New York we had a massive argument about my personal life. He thought he could control me but he thought wrong. At the start he was nice and funny but he slowly became this guy who had nothing in common with the Cesar i became friends with.

That night I had stormed out of his room never contacting him or seeing him until today.

The door bursts open as fury builds up in me. "Athena calm down please"Haven pleads as she rushes towards me. "Who is that?" Asher asks.

"That's Cesar Pearson" I reply. "How do you know him?" Damien continues on with questions

"We met a couple months ago when I was back in London. We became somewhat of friends. But then he slowly began to change. For the worst making me do stuff for him which of course I never did but he hated as I was the only one who said no to him. Everyone became some what scared of him and a couple nights before I came we had an argument. A really bad one." I reply looking towards them.

"After back and forth yelling I stormed out of his house he tried to follow me but i quickly found a taxi I could take back home. After I got home I deleted all his contact's except..." I pause turning my gaze over to Grayson. "Your number, you never changed your number"he finishes. "Fuck"i mutter.

Everyone except Grayson and I now have confusion al over their faces. "Ummm....explain please"Chris announces breaking the silence. Before answering Grayson give me a look. I take a minute to decide if I should tell them but at this point I don't really have an option. "You don't have to tell us if you don't want to"Val says with certainty in her voice. "No it's fine I can't keep lying. When I got here I started getting texts from an unknown number. I had been trying to ignore them until when me and Grayson were walking back from the lake in the woods we got chased by a tall figure after reading an another message.  We managed to escape running all the way back to the dorms without stopping. Grayson and I decided we couldn't tell anyone because w have no idea who it was or what they were capable of I guess until now."I explain leaving out what the texts said.

"Why did you lie to me? About it being a bear?"Haven states looking a bit sad but also worried. "Because this person knows everything, about my past ,my friends. They know where I am all the time , what i say all the time. They know everything. I couldn't put you danger. I told Grayson one thing and it chased us probably trying to kill us. I couldn't make that mistake ever again. "I reply hoping they would understand.

"But now I know who it is and if it means ripping his neck off for you guys I'll happily do it with a smile on my face." I state as they laugh slightly and I smile back. "Okay but all jokes aside what are you going to do?" Asher asks. "Confront him."I say back confidently. They all say no of course. "You guys don't get it. I know his weaknesses and if he tries something like I said I'll rip his neck off. I can do it" I confirm as they all call me insane.

The bell for next period rings so we al make our way down the stairs trying not to get caught by any teachers. I have class with Val only so we separate from them all and make our way to life study.

We chat as we walk down the hall and enter the class. There's a seating plan on the board so me and Val scan for our names. We both smile as we see we're sat next to each other but our happiness quickly fades as I see Cesar is behind me.

"Shit"i mutter as the teachers head snaps to me. "Athena! Go sit down before I send you out!"she yells as I throw my hands up in defence. We walk over to our seats and I give Cesar a deaf stare ,if deaf stares could kill, Pearson would be dead.

The main reason why I know it's cesar is because him and his mum are the only ones who know the truth. About Isabella and my so called father. Cesars mum, Lia has been friends with my mum since secondary school so they know a lot about each other. Lia knew from the start that my dad abused me and Isa but she couldn't do anything about it as he had a strong title, stronger than hers which ment no one would believe her. My mum made her promise she wouldn't tell anyone to which she had agreed on only for our safety. After Isa's death she knew the story wasn't true. She saw right through it because Lia knew Isa was healthier than anyone she knew. There was no way that she died from an attack whith her perfectly healthy body. So in the end my mum told her the true story. Of course to which led on Cesar finding out. We were about 13 at the time and not very close as I refused to talk to anyone after Isabella's passing.

I completely shut my self off but something in me changed and I because more cold and heartless towards people. Except my mum of course.

After the argument with Cesar, before I could block him he had texted me 'your going to regret that'

When I got the text after Astrid's  shit ,I did have a voice at the back of my head telling me it was him but I had ignored it because I thought he was in London.

I was wrong

He had been here all along, planning each off his moves carefully. Making sure I didn't suspect a thing until he made a mistake, Showing up.

I was snapped out of my trance as I feel a kick to my chair. Caesar's kick. Another one, and another , again and again the same kick. Val looks over at me and realises it's Cesar. "Stop it."I state turning back to him then back around to the board. But of course that dip shit doesn't stop.

I try to keep my calm but I just had enough.

"Stop kicking my fucking chair you insolent piece of shit!"I scream turning round to face him. "Athena! What in earth is going on!" The teacher exclaims.

"Cesar is-"I get cut off "doing nothing, she keeps talking to me distracting me." He continues as I raise my eyebrows at him. "Is that so Athena?" The teacher asks. "No it isn't" I state looking at her.

"He's lying."I continue. "Just like you are to everyone Athie" he whispers in my ear so only I could hear him.

Angry builds up in me and before I know it I grab my book and slam it into his face. I've had practice.

"Don't ever talk to me again asshat."I yell grabbing my books and bag and storming out the classroom with Val following behind as Cesar groans in pain with blood streaming down his nose.

Everyone shook and some some people making faces at the blood.

I slam the door shut after me and Val walk out. "Athena you're amazing, my true idol. "Val says as we both laugh. I am mad but I'm not going to take it out on her. Instead I'll laugh with her.

We turn the corner to where we come face to face with teachers and the principal standing with radios in their hands. "Ah" I say as me and Val freeze. "Athena" the principle states coldly. "Long time no see Mr Miller"I say with an awkward laugh. Val standing next to me trying to hold in her laughter.

"My office now. "He exclaims.
