"I warned y'all"

Is the last thing they heard

-

From the distance a man with wings sat in a cross legged position. Sucking on a lollipop he watched in amusement as the fight continues. Below him hundreds ran away from the scene he was watching. His former mentor is fighting with a skeleton man against a bunch of bounty hunters. He smiled amused by the fighting happening as he's done sucking on his lollipop.

"5 minutes... Give them 5 minutes before engaging" He radioed his team. He watched silently as he reminisce about what happened a year ago.

How a year ago his former mentor. The person he looked up to during his training. Someone the Association can trust and entrust missions to. Which was the reason of her betrayal.

He did not agree with what she did. Though she can understand why she did it, and now he has to do her dirty work, so that he won't end up like her.

-

"Sleeping with the fishes, it was optional yet they picked wrong" Dead Man said after placing the last bullet in the enemy's brain.

"Yeah, yeah cowboy, you better get your ass out of here before you get caught up with the Hero Association" She said as she glared in the distant buildings.

"I still have a bounty to collect M'lady, you better fork yourself over before it gets ugly" He said as he leans on the window.

"Oh it will get ugly... They're here" She said in a venomous tone.

Silence filled the room as no movement was done by both hunter and hunted. The night stood still and time slowed for both of them. A single sound broke the peace. In the ground, the object that broke the silence was a flash bang.

BANG

Both averted their eyes not wanting to be affected by the flash of the flash bang. A swat team proceeds to quickly run up the steps. Rifles at hand, the group faced both Dead Man and Nagant.  The atmosphere was tense, eyes looked in and guns loaded. Every was ready to shoot.

"According to the papers, no Hero Association members will interfere during the persuit of Miss Nagant. And if so needed to interfere the bounty hunter will be compensated with half the reward money. Even if the bounty hunter is a hero, civilian, criminal or villain" Dead Man said to the new set of people clad in all black.

Every one tensed up as Dead Man moved from his standing point with now both his revolvers pointing against two sides. The left revolver pointing at Nagant, and the right revolver pointing at the swat team.

"Will I still be compensated the full amount if I help in her capture?" Dead Man asked the swat team.

Silence once again broke out.

"No" was all they said.

"Suit yourselves" Was the only thing Dead Man said as he shot at the pipes making enough smoke to cloud their vision.

Sticks of dynamite blew up causing more smoke and dust to the air. The sound of clanging metal can be heard from all directions. Dead Man himself disappeared into the fog as more and more steam and gas fill the area. The swat team was disoriented. They charged at the obvious direction of where Lady Nagant would go but there is nobody to be seen. They then exited the area alerting other members to search the premises in case of her signs being left behind.

The winged man was annoyed. His slightly faulty plan almost succeeded. With only the use of basic swat and police he could have gotten his former mentor with just that but the Hero Association just didn't want to give Dead Man a full payment.

'Were they serious?' He thought to himself as well yes, his plan of just using swat and police officers was faulty at best and terrible at worst, from his perspective is that that was all that is needed. No need for special forces or pro heroes, just a few swat members and police officers, it could have all gone perfectly if the bounty hunter helped. But no the Hero Association was just that greedy to not incentivise a bounty hunter and end this wild goose chase of his former mentor.

'No wonder why she did what she did. The association was unbearable' The winged man thought to himself.

A man sits on top of a roof top looking at the rising sun. He lights a cigar for himself, wanting to relax in this peaceful time. He ponders as to the whereabouts of the target he was hunting down. He looks at a piece of paper, seeing the contents of it there's only one this he sees. It's the bounty at her head.

"She's mine, and mine alone"
