"dude." lia said into the car's microphone, pulling up to the gym.

"you go to planet fitness, right?" charlie asked. lia nodded to herself before saying yes, so charlie laughed, "i'm like one of those gym bros, lia. be warned."

she laughed as she switched to just her phone, taking her stuff in. she held her 14 max in a grip, "well, i'm heading to the treadmills. nothing like some cardio to pump the blood."

"i'm afraid a heart pumps blood." a voice said as charlie hung up, "i know mine does."

she jumped and turned around, hugging him, quickly. "charlie, you fucking scared me." "that was my goal. anyway, it's time to chulk."

lia laughed as they checked in. she tied her hair up and took off her purple zip hoodie, revealing a set of purple short shorts and lighter purple sports bra. safe to say charlie was more than flustered.

it was almost as if he could imagine them-

no, they're just friends.

"i'll see you on the flipside." lia heard him say in a rushed tone before he went for a different sector of the gym. she stood there before shrugging and walking to the cardio section to go on the treadmills.

putting on her headphones and playing her gym playlist, fleetwood mac greeted her with i don't want to know. she hummed along as she set the half hour for her cardio routine.

after a few hours of a more relaxed gym day, lia walked to her car after wiping herself down. hearing footsteps. turning around, lia had only just realised charlie was wearing contacts. "you don't have your glasses on, goober." she said, putting her damp towel into a plastic bag.

she looked up to see charlie basically flexing his muscles. his arms were folded and before lia knew it, he was slightly leaning over her and they were both extremely red, adding to their flushed faces.

"don't i?" he smiled. he knew what he was doing, even if he didn't.

"nope. i'll see you at mine later, though. we have a killer game of mario kart to get to."

charlie smiled, "of course, see you tonight, lia." he waved as she drove off and one thing ran through his mind as he wiped his face in frustration.

he should have seized and kissed her in the moment.
