Even though Chen had a blast last night, there is still something tugging at his heart the whole time, almost as if he's not doing something right.

But he ignores it, because he continues to remind himself that that date is in two days, not today.

As he walks back to his room feeling jolly (after all, he did manage to catch the eye of Kim Minseok a few times), his mood turns sour immediately after he sees a lump in front of his door.

Said lump is his friend, Byun Baekhyun.

What the hell is he doing there? Chen immediately runs towards his friend, shaking him on the shoulder.

"Baekhyun?" His voice is laced with worry and anxiety as he looks for his friend's phone in his large pockets, taking it out to check something.

"...Thanks for answering my calls..." The voice comes out muffled with a hint of sarcasm, then he groans as he shifts, clutching his head. Fear clutches in Chen's heart as he looks at the date, reading 'Wednesday, 18th', guilt washing over him as he sets his friend's phone down with shaky hands.

"Shit, Baekhyun ..." He whispers as he looks down at his friend in shock. "I'm sorry ... I'm so sorry ... I didn't know ..." Before he can finish, though, he sees Baekhyun wave it off before gripping on him for support.

"I fucking messed up ... I messed up bad ... Geez, Baek, I'm so – "

"Stop it." Baekhyun sighs, not a hint of anger, hurt, betrayal or disappointment in his tone as he tries to stand up by himself. "You said so yourself. You didn't know ... It's not your job to take care of me." It's at this moment that Chen realises where they are.

"What are you doing here? Why aren't you in your room?" As Baekhyun recollects himself, Chen watches him in worry. "Or in my room? I told Chanyeol not to lock the doo–" Realisation then dawns on him, and fury comes rushing more intensely than guilt.

"Chanyeol kicked you out, didn't he? He knows full well it was cold for a summer last night, so he left you out here alone? You must have frozen to death! That bastard, I didn't know he was so heartless –" As Chen makes to barge in the door and give Chanyeol a beating, a weak hand grabs him and stops him.

"No, Jongdae..." Baekhyun mutters, and in any situation Chen would've reminded his friend that he changed his name, but right now isn't the time.

"What are you talking about?" Chen stops himself, mostly because he's not a reckless person. Also, the way Baekhyun looks so reluctant for Chen to teach Chanyeol a lesson is unusual, considering he's always the one whining for his friend to help him bash up the giant, him that's constantly complaining whenever Chen states that Baekhyun's enemy is not his enemy.

"Just ... I'll deal with it myself." Baekhyun mumbles, and although Chen is suspicious, he says nothing. "Just lift me up, will you."

"Bossy as ever." Chen sighs as he helps his friend up, feeling more relieved that Baekhyun is still himself. They start walking back to Baekhyun's room, and all the while Chen can't help but notice something.

"Just what the hell are you wearing?"

"... Shut up."

Baekhyun greets Kyungsoo with a weak smile once he enters, watching Kyungsoo's worried expression morph into one of relief.

"Where were you last night?" He asks, his small hands taking Chen's place as he helps his roommate to his bed.
