Dear Ma,

You left me again on my great grandmother's care. I don't know where you will be going without me nor when you will come back. Communication is hard during those times, and I barely even remember your voice.

You know what Ma? I have been bullied during this year, my first grade in elementary school. I was bullied for being poor. My classmates used to laugh at me for wearing shabby uniform sewed by Lola personally. I was bullied for not having a mother. And because of an obvious reflection of poverty on my pocket.

But, I was fine. You promised to come back on my upcoming birthday. Together with Tatay, you told me that you will definitely come back to celebrate it with me.

Unfortunately, the day of my birthday come but even your shadow wasn't there. You never came back. And all I can remember is the sadness that filled my little heart because of that.

Yours,

ECCA
