Marin uses with a English/French-to-Chinese translation app. "You'll see Tikki. I'll say it just fine.", Marin said.

He presses the microphone button on the app. "Welcome to my home. My name is Marin.", Marin continued.

"欢迎来到我家，我叫马林。", the app translated. Marin repeats after the translator app, but pronounces the sentence wrong.

"No, that's not right.", Marin said. He repeated the translated statement and gets it correct.

"Good job, Marin!", Tikki complimented. "I'm so nervous! Do you think he'll like them?", Marin said, grabbing the flowers off the coffee table.

"Well of course! They're fine!", Tikki reassured. "They can't be fine, they have to be perfect! My mom's uncle is a super famous Chinese chef. He's very particular, so things have to be just right.", Marin told her.

The doorbell soon rang. "That's him! Hide, Tikki.", Marin continued, as Tikki hides.

While going to the door, Marin trips over the backing of her couch before opening it. "你好 (Hello).", Wang Cheng greeted.

"Uh, welcome Mar, you're at In's. Uh... ah, welcome to Marin's! You're Chinese! No no no no! In Mandarin!", Marin said, tripping over his words. Marin attempts to greet his great uncle in Chinese.

"Ugh, no wait.", Marin groaned. Marin reaches for phone and hands Wang Cheng the flowers, who smells them and begins to remove the petals.

"Welcome to my home. My name is Marin. Ugh, this is so lame.", Marin whisper-shouted to the translator app on his phone. "欢迎来到我家。我叫马林。呃，这太蹩脚了。呃，这太蹩脚了。呃，这个—— ", the app said for him.

But, the app malfunctions and keeps repeating, "Ugh, this is so lame!", until he closes the app and let his great uncle inside. Marin decided to dial his best friend.

"Arlo, you've gotta help me. I don't know what to do with my mom's uncle. You know, the one I told you about? Well, I don't think I can pull this off...", Marin said. Cut to Arlo, sitting on a park bench.

"Chill out Marin, I got the solution. Just hang tight.", Arlo reassured and hung up. "Thank you! You're amazing. What solution?", Marin asked, before noticing Arlo wasn't on the line anymore.

"Huh? Aw...", Marin sighed.

Marin was feeling uneasy as he sat next to Wang Cheng, anxiously waiting for Arlo's help. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and Marin jumped up to answer it.

To his surprise, it was his friend Amelie! "Hey Marin!", Amelie greeted.

Marin's heart raced as he tried to process what was happening. "Amelie!? W-What in the world are you doing here?", Marin stammered.

"Arlo called me.", Amelie explained with a grin. "He said you needed someone who speaks Chinese. Well, here I am! Translator extraordinaire at your service.", Amelie continued, as she playfully bowed to him.

"No! I mean, yes! Uh, where's Arlo?", Marin asked eagerly. He then got a text from Arlo.

"You owe me twenty thousand croissants now.", Arlo texted him. "Uh, hehe!", Marin chuckled.

[Scene: In the car on the way to the contest]

"郑师傅，这是你第一次来巴黎吗？(Master Cheng, Is this the first time you've visited Paris?)", Amelie asked. "不，我三十年曾经来过这里;你说一口流利的中国话。(No, I have been here 30 years ago. You can speak Chinese fluently.)", Wang answered.
