013 || Scared Me

Ava Potter's pov:

I woke up the next morning to my phone ringing? My eyes slowly opened as the ringing kept going. I didn't move last night, my head was still resting on Mattheo's chest while his arm was wrapped around me. 

He started to stir so I quickly grabbed my phone and saw that the number was...my fathers? I picked up the phone and answered it, laying my head back down on Mattheo's chest. "Ava."

"What" 

"Your mother got the dress and the wedding is getting pushed forward."

"When?"

"Next month."

"Ok" 

"Bye." And he hung up. I sighed and put my phone behind me as I snuggled into Mattheo more. Why was it so hard for me to just be happy? It's like I have to fight for everything I have. No matter how hard I fight I somehow still lose it. I can't lose Mattheo. 

I sighed and shut my eyes letting sleep take me over, again.

When I woke up again, the bed felt empty. I opened my eyes and there was no Mattheo. Pansy and Draco were still asleep. I got up and the bathroom door was open so he wasn't in there. There wasn't a note on my nightstand. 

Usually when he leaves while I am asleep he will write some type of note. I changed as fast as I could but it still felt like I was taking forever. 

I walked out of the dorm and ran down the steps to see if he was in the common room. He wasn't. I sighed and ran to the library. Then, I looked at the time 8:26. Breakfast? I started running to the Great Hall.

I don't know why I was thinking he would be in the library. That will be my last resort but I don't think I would end up finding him there. I ran to the great hall and saw the Slytherin table but no sign of Mattheo. 

My heart sunk deeper every time I couldn't find him. Cedric saw my worry and ran up to me. "Hey A you ok?"

"I can't find Mattheo" 

"Do you want me to help?" 

"Sure" He nodded as I took one more scan on the Great Hall. "Where else Ava where else" I say more to myself but Cedric heard as he was right next to me. "Astronomy Tower! Merlin why am I so stupid" 

"Huh?"

"J-Just so back to your friends. I-I should be fine now" And with that I ran off. I ran up the steps and saw someone leaning against a pillar and smoking when I got to the top. Mattheo. I ran up to him and hugged him.

"Whoa you ok?"

"Y-you scared me" I pulled away and sat down next to him, taking the cigarette out of his hand. 

"How did I scare you"

"When I woke up you weren't there and there wasn't a note telling me where you where so I freaked out."

"Aw. I am fine mi amour" I felt heat rise to my cheeks. I took a few puffs and passed it back to him. I laid my head in his lap as his hand started playing with my hair. I felt at peace. In his arms I was always safe.

I stared at the ceiling while he watched the sky and lake. He put the cigarette out and picked me up. "What-" He moved me in between his legs and my head rested on his stomach. 

"Better?' He asked. 

"Much" His hand started playing with my hair once again. "I love you Mattheo." 

"I know A. I know." 

"Are you gonna say it back?" He chuckled.

"You already know how much I love you." 

"Wow. Rude." He laughed and shook his head.

"I love you Ava so much" I smiled.

"Yay!" This is my calm. Lots of people have a place as their safe place or their home but mine was right here. Mine was a person. I could be in the most unsafe place or have the most horrible feeling and all he would have to do is hold me.

We stayed up there a while. But soon we headed down and it was about lunch time. As we walked in the Great Hall Pansy and Draco's head shot up, a smile made its way to their faces. I smiled back at them.

There weren't any classes today. I sat down next to Pansy. "Oh! I forgot to mention, the wedding got moved to next month"

"That's good!"  Pansy said as I nodded.

"That means we can get this done with faster." 

"I am down for this being over" Mattheo sighed.

"Me too, Theo. Me too"

Usually I wouldn't care or agree with my parents but this got it done faster. I don't wanna be in this wedding so making it sooner would get this over faster and I was perfectly fine with that. I think anyone would be. 

Pansy, Draco, Mattheo and I went to the Black Lake and hung out there for a while. We swam and I got thrown in by Mattheo while Pansy got thrown in by Draco. Then we got revenge and pushed them in once we got out. 

Eventually we all ended up swimming at the same time. When we wanted to go back in because it started getting too cold. We headed in and it was about dinner time. We all walked to our dorm and changed into clean warm clothes. 

After dinner Mattheo and I had a royalty meeting so we changed..once again. I changed into a red dress that stopped about mid-thigh. I threw on some black boots. Mattheo wore a dark green suit. 

We talked about random things as we got back into the Great Hall. We went our separate ways. He went to Tom and Cissy. I went to my parents and brother. "Why were you with Mattheo?" I got questioned by my father like i have never hung out with him before.   

"Oh I don't know it's not like he is my best friend or anything."

"Such a disappointment" He shook his head. I put my head down as we talked about what needed to be talked about. Breaks and more balls and stupid things. Once we were done Mattheo and I met up and we walked back to our dorm.

There was Pansy and Draco sitting on their bed watching their phones. Mattheo and I got changed...again. We changed into some pj's and got into bed. I was exhausted but Pansy wanted to watch a movie. 

We watched a movie and I fell asleep on Mattheo's chest with his hand rubbing my back. I was home.
