Aiden POV.
My day started similarly to yesterday.
I woke up at my usual time, this time I noticed my brother was awake yet he was unresponsive to any of my words. I of course didn't leave him alone like that, I took some time and made him breakfast once I had gotten ready for school and left it by the side of the bed he occupied. As depressed as he was, I hoped he would give in to his hunger and eat since I had a feeling he hadn't eaten the whole of yesterday.
Today as well, Alice and Sasha stood in front of the same family picture they stood in front of yesterday. Just like yesterday they had bags under their eyes, just worse meaning they probably still hadn't had enough sleep.
Not my problem though.
Since I took some time to make my brother breakfast, I had almost missed the bus. The ride to school would've been quiet, had Stephanie not ridden the bus alongside me. We spoke, getting to know each other more than we ever did these past two months of sitting by each other.
It made me wonder, that maybe if I just stopped worrying about failing to make conversations and kept on trying, I would've been able to make as many friends as my brother did.
No matter though, it was unnecessary to look too much into the past.
All I could do was move forward after all.
Right after we reached school, we had our sociology class together, after that we separated to different classes. While she had Economics, I had Computer science.
I had just finished my Computer science class, having nothing to do I opted to maybe go and grab a bite at the cafeteria.
The cafeteria was situated on the very 1st floor of the school's main building. It's sides were made out of glass, allowing a good amount of sunlight to seep into the hall from both sides and for those who were eating to have a beautiful view of the outside world and the woods full of lush trees situated on the left. Outside the cafeteria on the right, were several benches where people were allowed to eat as well whilst taking in the fresh air from outside. Inside people could be seen walking in and out of the food area, those who already had their food sat down on various tables with their friends talking and laughing out loud. The cafeteria was bustling with people everywhere, all of which seemed happy as they could now hang out with people who weren't in their various classes.
I stood in front of the door, contemplating.
Because I had never once stepped foot into this place.
Despite having attended this college for two months, I had not once stepped foot inside the cafeteria.
Why?
Well because everyone in the cafeteria was in a group. Each time I tried to enter the cafeteria I couldn't help but notice that there was absolutely no one that sat alone. The least amount would be people in a pair, yet that was still without a doubt a group of people even though the number was simply two.
A loner like me had no place there, my social anxiety wouldn't let me eat in peace.
As I stood in front of the cafeteria contemplating my life choices, my phone vibrated in my pocket.
I took it out and noticed I had received a message. I unlocked it using my thumb and went straight to my messages.
'Is that you standing awkwardly in front of the cafeteria? Hahahahaha!!!'
My grip on my phone tightened.
I was about to turn my phone off, but it vibrated once again.
Sighing, I checked the message I received.
