Aiden POV
I woke up in the morning at exactly six am, my usual wake up time. Getting off my bed was a hassle as always but I did it because I had school in about two hours. I yawned once my feet touched the ground and immediately began my daily stretching.
Once I was done, I went to take a shower and get ready for the day.
I walked down the stairs in a casual oversized black T-shirt and black shorts, my bag slung over my shoulder despite there still being over an hour before my classes began. I walked to the kitchen, to my surprise my mother was already there making breakfast.
She usually didn't wake up early, so I was surprised, but the usual poker face that resided on my face didn't allow me to express that through my facial expression.
"Morning mom." I greeted.
"Ah, good morning Aiden, how'd you sleep?"
"Good and you?"
"I slept well thank you."
I threw my bag onto the couch and walked up to her to see what she was making.
"Oh, I'm making scrambled eggs and toast." She said as she noticed me approaching.
"Ah, just what I wanted to eat, you're the best mom."
"I know right?" She cheered.
I mustered up a small smile before I went to the dining table and set it up for the remainder of our family.
Once I got there I couldn't help but notice a picture of our family posted up on the wall. On that picture was my now late dad, mom, twin brother although we're fraternal and our older sister. I closed my eyes and gave a silent greeting to my late father before I continued setting the table. My brother and I were both college students, first years to be precise. My sister was four years older than us, she had graduated a year ago from the same university and was now working at some big company I couldn't care less about.
My mother was in her late forties, yet she didn't look a day past thirty. The constant exercises and healthy eating definitely helped her to retain her youthful beauty, beauty that my sister had inherited. My brother looked more like my father, but that wasn't all that he inherited, he was physically fit, so much so that I believed that even if he stopped exercising, he had good enough genes to stay fit for a good while, but just like my father he had garnered average intelligence, struggling to complete some things that I would consider basic. I on the other hand was stated to have a striking resemblance to my mother's father, my late grandfather. I had never met the man, but from the pictures of his younger self that I had seen, I had to admit that I really did look like him.
"Oh thanks for setting the table dear, I'll go wake up your siblings." My mom said, handing me the pan she scrambled eggs in before she walked up the stairs.
I didn't like my eyes, I didn't like my mind either, they did things that I wouldn't really care much to do, yet I understood that such things were due to my own human instinct, and because of that I noticed something I had reason to believe I wasn't supposed to.
I kept silent, busying myself with sharing equal portions of scrambled eggs except for my brother's plate since he ate a lot. After that I went into the kitchen and took the plate full of toast and placed it at the center of the table and then, I took my seat.
I waited for a good while before my mother, accompanied by my two yawning siblings walked into the dining room.
"Morning Aiden." My sister yawned.
"Morning." My brother followed.
"Good morning." I answered back.
The two took their own seats, so did my mother and then we all began eating.
