I was on a plane ride with Duke to our internship to Barbados. We got an assistant director internship with Netflix for one of their shows. We reached the place and got set up in our hotel rooms.

We went for the first meeting of our internship and to my unfortunate luck and destiny the show they assigned us for was Outer Banks. I sighed. I had been a year since I ended Drew and my half a month relationship considering he cheated on me after that. I sighed annoyed. Duke rubbed my hand knowing I was disappointed. The other interns from our group had all flown to different countries for different shoots.

In the afternoon we met the rest of the crew. We met the costume and make up intern Maya. During lunch Duke and I hung with her. We had a small party with the crew and cast so, I got ready. I wore a white dress with a leather jacket with black knee high boots. Some brown eyeliner and red lipstick.

The party was nice Duke, Maya and I were standing in a corner chatting. I walked off to get refreshments for the group I heard my name being called out. I turned around to see Austin. "Allora?" He asked shocked. "Hi, Austin." I said with a small smile.  "What are you doing here?" Austin asked. He was with the entire pogue cast. "I am the assistant director, this is my internship. I got it with Duke. I don't know if you remember him." I said. "Yeah, no. I remember Duke." I nodded my head. "I just can't believe your here." he said. He sounded nervous. Madeline smiled and shook my hand. "It's so nice to meet you." "You too." I said with a kind smile.

"Hey guys!" Odessa says walking up to the group. The whole group looks at me. I look at her and see him right behind smiling at the group. He finally turns to see me. His widen in shock. I lower my eyes and walk back through the crowd and I reach Duke. He was alone on his phone. "Can we step out somewhere in private?" I ask him. Duke immediately nods and leads the way. I follow him and we stand outside.

"I am guessing you saw him." Duke said we leaned against a wall. "I saw them. Together." I said. He sighed. "I never cared that he didn't like me back I realised. I... I was more upset that he made me believe he liked me when he didn't have the strongest of feelings. I am okay with him not liking me but, leading me on was just wrong." I said. Duke pulled me in for a hug and I embraced him tightly. He rubbed circles on my back to comfort me.

I smile at him. We go back to the party we make our rounds and keep a distance from the cast for the rest of the night. Duke doesn't leave my side even once. We end up leaving the party ending early too. Through out the next two weeks I keep any interaction with Drew at 1%. I avoid him.

We were at the beach shooting. I was at the refreshment table. Odessa walks over. "Hi." She said sweetly. "Hello." I said. "So, how do you know Austin?" she asked me. I did hang out with Austin a lot since he was around the pogues a lot. "We met while vacationing." "Oh. Nice. He totally seems to like you." She said. Cleo, Kie and Madeline were also at the same table. "Uhm... no we are just friends." I said with a polite smile. "You look very familiar." She says. I didn't respond and just nodded my head. "Oh hey babe." Odessa says. I look behind me and see Drew walking over. "Don't you think Austin and I'm sorry what's your name again?" "Allora." Drew and I say at the same time. I glance at him and look away. "Austin and Allora would make such a cute couple." Odessa asked as she gave Drew a side hug. "But, I thought you were dating Duke?" Rudy said as he joined the table with Johnathan and Chase. "He my best friend." "It never seemed that way." Drew commented. I looked at him.

"But, I think you should totally be set up with Austin. Right guys?" Odessa said. She kissed Drew on the cheek. I took a deep breath. "I am not interested in anyone and I am here to do my job. That's it. If you guys excuse me I'll get back to my job. Nice talking with you." I said walking off.

I was the one of the last ones to finish up today. I was about to make my way to the bus station when, "Why are you here?" I heard Drew ask.

"I am working." "Are you?" "Excuse me?" I ask. "You heard me. I don't see you working. It's always chatting up Duke or Austin." Drew said. I scoff at his audacity. "Firstly, you should not be looking at me when you have a girlfriend. Two, I can hang out with who ever I wish to. Three, I am not you so, I won't lead people on only to break their hearts." I said and began walking away. "You broke mine first." "What?" I asked. "You broke mine first. After I came back all I saw was pictures with you with Duke. Your conversations were always about him. What was I supposed to think." "You weren't supposed to think, you were supposed to be honest and ask me. Accuse me then if you wanted, had a fight then. Instead of assuming I cheated on you and then have payback of some kind when you did cheat." I answered him. "You think you would have been understanding if I accused you." "No. I would have assured you, fought with you but, most of all I would have fought for you. I would have told you I love you." "What?" "It was early to say it. I know. But, I felt it. I truly did love you."  I told him. He walked closer and I took a step back. He stopped in his tracks frowning.

"What are you doing?" he asked. "Not allowing you to do anything that will hurt me. I am putting a distance between us." I said. "If you didn't like him then do you like him now?" He asked. "No." "What about Austin?" "What about him?" "Do you like him?" "He was fun to hang out then and still is." "You should allow me to drop you home it's late." "No, thank you. I have a bus coming." I said looking down the bus as it should be coming any moment. "You didn't check the time and it's late. The last bus came 15 minutes ago." I hear him from much closer. "I thought I told you to not come closer." I said I took a step back and tripped on the seat. His arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me up balancing me. I looked right into his eyes. He had a buzzcut and it looked good on him. His skin was sunkissed. His blue eyes darker in the night. I stood up and I was standing chest to chest with him. "I'll call myself an uber." I said and my phone showed that it was out of battery.

"Guess I am your only option." He said. I huffed before walking around him to his car. We began the ride to the hotel. He looked at me and was about to open his mouth when I switched on the radio and put the volume high up. I looked out the window the entire time. When we reached I was about to jump out when the door didn't open. He locked it. "You have to open the door." I said. He put his hand on mine. I didn't look at him. "I am sorry for breaking your heart." he said. I knew if I heard this, his whole side of the story I would cry. "I am tired I would like to get out please. Now." I said. "I missed you." he said. "You have a girlfriend. If couldn't be loyal to me atleast be loyal to her so, your and my sake Drew let me go. Now and forever. Because you hurt me too much to be with you." My voice broke. He put his finger below my chin and I looked right into his eyes. He had his jaw clenched and his eyes held saddness. "Please." I asked whimpering. He turned around looking straight ahead and the door unlocked. I got out and ran to the door.

I got into the elevator and held my tears back until I rushed and got to my room. I broke down and cried. My back against the door.
