(Note: This is going to be a very short chapter. It's just a way for me to time my chapters with the actual chapters of RWBY so it doesn't become a combined mess)

The trio ran for the hills to escape the fire as it was spreading, something Kris forgot to put out before hurling the burning tree to a group of wolves, "Oops... My bad, forgot to put that out first" he murmured as he scratched his head. He then turns to the hunters as he heard them argue, possibly from their little mishap before his two-on-many fight with Birth.

"Oh c'mon!? You're still on about that!?" Ruby exclaimed.

"Well perhaps if you have practice with the slightest amount of caution of your strikes, I wouldn't have set the forest on fire!" Weiss retorted.

"What's that supposed to mean!?"

"I'm just surprised that someone who talks to so much can communicate so little during an encounter!"

"Well I'm sorry that you need my help to win in a fight, I'm just fine on my own!"

"Enough of this nonsense! Can you two just cool it!?"

Kris intervenes their quarrel as he punches the tree next to him. Their agitated expression fell as his sudden actions frightened them.

"Will there ever be an end to your childish bickering? You've been at this since yesterday!"

Weiss spoke up by saying it was Ruby who appeared out of nowhere but Kris silenced her immediately.

"Yeah? That doesn't give you the right to lash out at her at any given chance, Weiss! Everyone makes mistakes on their first day. Give Ruby a break, she's most likely not too experienced working in teams! Not everyone is adept at it, and that's what this academy is for. To teach us, the importance of teamwork, how to communicate with our teammates to ensure everyone does their part and return from a mission safely! You can't just demand your way to victory, you have to learn your teammates' strengths and weaknesses! So please, refrain from arguing with her everytime!"

He turns to Ruby after he gave Weiss an earful.

"And Ruby, do you not remember what Professor Ozpin said? We can run the risk of dying on the initiation! We're on our own now, this isn't some run of the mill academy where our teachers will always have our back when something goes awry. You shouldn't have left Weiss alone! The Emerald Forest is filled with all kinds of Grimms some of us probably have never fought before! From beowolves, to death stalkers, to the humongous nevermore birds. I even fought a raptor grimm with pterosaur wings for crying out loud! So please, take this initiation more seriously!"

Ruby averts her eyes from him in shame, and so did Weiss. Kris let out all of his frustration with a sigh before his tone shifts to a more softer one.

"Listen, I'm not mad at you two, nor am I disappointed. It's mostly because of my prohibition of forming or joining one's team. Knowing this, I made a quick oath to help the teams struggling with cooperation. I just want you two, and whoever your two future members are, to succeed. Who cares if I succeed? I'd probably be better off fighting alone, occasionally alongside Birth from time to time. Let's just push this aside, and find the rest of your team. Who knows how many teams have formed right about now, they're probably heading to the temple as we speak! Let's get a move on!"

The two hunters nod before following OOO from behind.

Meanwhile...

"Kris Silverlight..." Birth murmured as he is still heading to the mouth of the forest, returning to Foundation S. He twists the knob on his Driver clockwise, cancelling the transformation. Revealing a young man with long silver hair and blue eyes.

"Forgive me... I promise... I promise to atone for my past mistakes. I promise I'll make it up to you one day" He thought to himself before unequipping his Driver and stores it in his coat.

"Hey mister!" A energetic voice calls out to him from behind. It was the voice of Yang, who is seen alongside Blake. "What are you doing in a place like this? You realize how dangerous this forest is, right?" the blondie asked, to which Birth just stayed silent.

Yang asked the stranger once again but louder, "This place is dangerous, y'know!? Do you want us to get you help!?". Birth finally spoke up, but did not accept her for help, he simply told her it's none of their business.

Irritated with his words, Yang was ready to share a few words with her fist but was stopped when the man says she is familiar, which made her drop her anger and was confused instead. "You're related to a girl I met not too long ago, I think her name is Ruby, correct?" Birth asked.

This made Yang ecstatic as she quickly asks him where her sister is, and Birth obliged by pointing in the direction he came from. "Your sister was almost killed by a pack of Beowolves if Kris and I hadn't fend them off" he said.

Yang thanked him multiple times before sprinting off to where Birth pointed with Blake following a moment later.

"How can you blindly trust him like that? What if he's leading us into a trap?" Blake points out.

"It's fine! We can always find him again and beat the soul out of him! Yang says enthusiastically, making the former's eyebrows drop.

Birth watched as they disappear off into the distance before thinking to himself, "If only..." before making his way.
