CHP.6 [A Grimm Encounter]

Ozpin stood near the edge of the cliff, watching his students through his phone (which for some reason is like the size of the tablet now). Glynda walked up next to him with her own "phone" while giving the summary of the formed teams to the headmaster.

Glynda first gave Ozpin the summary of the team consisting of two students named Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie, she gave her sympathy to the former as she figured it would be difficult for Ren to get along with Nora. Then, she brought up Pyrrha, saying that she isn't as lucky as she is teamed up with Jaune. Who the female professor was quick to give her judgement, saying that Jaune is not ready for the level of combat this task holds.

"Thankfully, our next team, consisting of Kris, Ruby and Weiss, has shown great potential, fending off against a pack of Beowolves. Though it was Kris who dealt with most of them" Glynda said before being corrected by Ozpin. "You mean he 'tagged along', correct?".

"That reminds me, you prohibited him in teams. Why is that?" the woman asked and Ozpin stayed silent for a moment... His face, while stoic yet stern, had a slight hint of sorrow. He took a quick breath before saying the answers will have to wait. Glynda did not ask any further questions.

"I see... At their current pace, they should reach the temple within minutes. Speaking of which, what did you use as relics this year?" Glynda asked but Ozpin stayed quiet again, even after she called out to him.

The trio decided to take five except for OOO, who was scouting for the temple from above the canopy. "Y'know the one thing I never understand?" Ruby asked and Weiss turns to her, asking what is it.

"Why does your face always go all red whenever Kris is around?"

Weiss knew what Ruby meant, causing her to blush but the scythe wielder was oblivious as to why, she dismisses such claims by saying she does not but Ruby points out that her face is doing it again.

"No I'm not! You're just imagining it!"

"But... But it's re-"

"For the last time, I'm not! Kris just scolded us for arguing, so let's not do it again!"

The two just stood in silence until Kris dropped from above, asking them what were they talking about. They said nothing and Kris just simply shrugs it off before telling them, "Alright, the direction of the temple is that way!" as he points to the north (at least he knows it's the north).

"How do you even know that?" Ruby asked.

"Oh, the Emerald Forest was featured as a map in a game called 'Grimm Hunter Generations Ultimate'. It's really fun! You should play it some time. There's a lot of Grimms in it that I wish I could fight in real life! There's the electric wolf Xinoger. The fire-breathing Wrathalos. There's even my all time favorite, the jet powered dragon Valstraks-" Kris trails off into his long talk about the game as Ruby listens with interest while Weiss was just listening to his voice.

But then he suddenly stops walking and asks if any of them possess superspeed. Ruby raises her hand ecstatically while Weiss asked him what's with the sudden question. "Walking is going to take forever... I figured just speeding to our destination would be the best course of action, especially when we know where it is" he answered before looking to Ruby and asks her how fast she can go.

"As fast as I wanna be!"

"Oh really? Bet you can't beat the speed of the Cheetah Core Medal!"

"You wanna make this a race?"

"Game on, Ruby!"

Kris switched the Batta Medal with the Cheetah Medal before scanning his driver.

[Taka! Tora! Cheetah!]

"Wait! You're not leaving me alone again!" Weiss snapped at the two and Kris turns to her with a smirk under his mask as he asks "Who said we were?", before appearing right next to her and lifted her off the ground.

Weiss found herself being bridal carried by the Rider, she was too embarrassed to say anything, opting to just stay quiet while placing her hands on his chest. At the same time, she tried her best to hide her red face by burying her face into him.

"All right! On our mark... Get set... Go!"

The two speed off into the distance as Weiss holds on to Kris for dear life.

Somewhere, Yang and Blake had stumbled upon an abandoned structure during their attempt to find Ruby. "Hm? Was she here moments ago?" she asked herself before they drop down the ledge they stood on.

As they got closer, they noticed several stone pedestals, each with a chess piece in either gold or black. Some of the pedestals had a missing piece, indicating that they weren't the first to discover said structure, something which Yang pointed out.

As Blake looked through each piece after suggesting they should pick one, Yang picks up the golden horse piece. "How about a cute little pony?" she asked while holding it up and Blake gave a near stoic "sure" as she rolled her eyes with a faint smile.

"Well that wasn't too hard" the blondie said and Blake tells her that this structure isn't too hard to find before a girlish scream caught their attention. "Some girl's in trouble! Blake, do you hear that!?" Yang exclaimed while the cries for help persists.

Meanwhile, the two speedsters halted their race as they too heard the scream. While Ruby nor Weiss couldn't recognized who that voice belongs to, Kris very much knows that cry anywhere. "Jaune!" the Rider exclaimed as he looks towards the direction of the scream, he then tells Ruby to forget about the relic and she nodded before heading off to help Jaune.

As for Jaune and his team... Pyrrha ran out of the cave they were in, thinking it was the location of the relics when in reality, they had entered the nest of a giant scorpion. The large arachnid bursted out of the small hole with Jaune hanging on it's stinger, shouting for Pyrrha to help him while saying; "It's not a relic, Pyrrha! It's not a relic!".

Pyrrha instructs the panicking boy not to fret as she thinks of a plan. As the scorpion was trying to shake him off, it was then shot by Cell Medals and the hunters looked to see Birth who ran up and shot more medals to the creature, causing it to flinch around a lot. "Aaarghh!! This isn't helping" Jaune cried as his grip was beginning to loosen and Birth just tells him to hang on as he aims for the stinger. But before he could, the scorpion made one more effort to shake Jaune off of it and finally got him off, but Jaune was sent flying across the forest high in the air.

"Hmph, this is the type of students Beacon allows..?" Birth muttered before looking back at the beast and aims his gun. "You! Get out of here! I'll handle this thing on my own!" He demanded of Pyrrha and she nodded before running into the forest.

"Creatures of Grimm... You have no place in our world!" He growled before shouting near the end of his sentence as Birth fired off more medals.
