The Empire of Japan and The U.S. Colony Philippines

[[Philippines]]

Another political day...

I hate political days. I'm just showing up beside my boss and he says what he needs to say. But the truth is, it's the commands of the japanese. It's really... a puppet republic.

I sighed tiredly.

After the announcement, I walked with Japan going back to his house. "Gomenasai. For today's political announcement." Japan apologises along the way.

"It's okay. Turns out, you're like Spain. You just want to protect the southeast asian countries. Thank you for caring, though." I said to him, smiling.

"So, we're fine now?" He asks.

"Maybe, still not sure though." I shrugged.

We have good times, and he's really patient and nice. But... sometimes, he's so strict and mean. It's different from Spain.

He tends... to abuse his powers. Everyone will surely only understand each other if the war is over, nothing is permanent unless the war is over.

When we reached his house, I took in a deep breathe and gathered all my courage. "We can only be friends if the war ends." I told him.

"Who-"

"No one has to win, Japan! It doesn't have to be you or America to win! I'm so sick and tired of always fighting! Maybe I'm saying this because I'm weak, but I just really don't understand to why you strong nations fight each other for territories. You're not overpopulated, you all have your own unique resources, nothing seems to be wrong when we all trade! I don't care what others say, I just want to be free!" I wiped off the tears thar are forming.

"And you think that America will give you that?"

I nodded, ashamed. Instead of fighting for my own independence, I rely on someone to do it for me.

"Japan-sama!" A soldier rushed in.

"Large naval ships can be seen at the sea! They're all american battleships, sir!" He added.

"Bring out our own large battleships and prepare for a fight!" Japan commanded.

America! He did come back! Just like he promised.

I was taken away by japanese soldiers and I was placed in a confined room while Japan and America fights. America... please, win!

Minutes shortly, a male guard entered, leaving food. Just before he closes the door and leave me, I placed a thick wooden stick in between the door, making a small gap and he can't close the door shut.

"Please, let me go!" I cried. He just tries to remove the bamboo stick but I don't let him.

"I'm not an animal to be caged like this! I may be weak and I rely on other people, but I still have my right to be free! Please!" I begged the guard.

"I want to be there for both America and Japan! Japan... I really want to be friends with him! He's so polite, kind, patient, serious, and he understands everything! But I was just scared. I was scared to be another colony, and I still am."

"Onegai..."

The door opens and when I looked up, the guard was there, holding his gun.

"Go." He says.

"Thank you! Thank you! Salamat! Arigatou!" I bowed, thanking him.

I ran out of the room and passed the guard. I headed towards the beach, because I know there would be a a fight among battleships of two nations.

When I reached the shore, there are no ships to be found. Huh? But I thought-

Slowly, I can see a black ship. As it comes closer, it becomes larger and larger. It's one crazy battleship. But... who owns it?

It stops not too far from the shore and drops its anchor. I can feel my heartbeat beating fast and loud, anxious on who won the battle.

Coming out from the end of the ship and walking towards the shore, I see America. Dressed in his naval attire, despite dirty and all beat up, he shows a smile as he walks going to land.

I just covered my mouth, crying in joy. America won, America won!

He arrives on the beach, his lower body soaking wet. He stops infront of me and shows another bright smile.

"I'm back, just like what I promised." He says.

"Yeah... you kept your promise." I sniffed.

He hugs me tightly. "Sorry for making you wait for a long time, Philippines."

"It's okay... because the hero came just right on time." I told him, hugging back.

I pulled away when I saw Japan in the distance. He looks more beaten up than America.

I walked up to him and grabbed both of his hands. "I'm not scared of you anymore, Japan." I told him. "I have decided before coming here... that I would stop doubting you."

"Say... want to be friends? What do you prefer? Japan... or Kiku?"
