Chapter Six

*Unplanned Pregnancy*
Kitchener, Ontario
8:00am,

The next morning, Jamal heads to the kitchen to eat out with his family when he starts to feel nauseous. "You okay there Jamal?" Roger looks at him. "No dad, I think I'm going to throw up," He runs to the bathroom and starts throwing up. He was coughing and gagging as his mother went downstairs to the kitchen and heard him vomiting. "What happened? Did you eat something bad?" "No Mom I don't. It's just that every time I eat breakfast, the smell was making me sick," He replied. Somehow, Jamal was explaining to his mother on why he was experiencing the symptoms.

"So Jamal, what is it that you want to tell me?" She asked. "Mom, I'm concerned of late," Jamal said feeling uneasy. "Why? What happened? Did you get hurt?" "No mom, for the past couple of days, I have been feeling nauseous, my appetite has been changing drastically and all I did was that I have been exercising and going to the practice but then I started to feel dizzy," He explained. "Okay, let's take you to the clinic," His mother drove him to the clinic. He explained to the nurse that he wasn't feeling well. When she placed the jelly on his stomach, the nurse noticed there was a cell inside that would form a baby. In his surprise, the nurse told Jamal. "The good news is you're 3 weeks pregnant," Jamal was confused. "I'm pregnant? No that's impossible! How did this happen?" "Have you had any sexual contact with anyone within the past few months?" It was a shocker to him because he didn't know how he and Isaiah were doing. "What? Can we keep that a secret? I'm a player for the Denver Nuggets for heck sake and I don't want to get in trouble with my head coach," 5 minutes after the checkup,

Jamal started crying. "How could this happen to me? I don't know what was going on?" The next thing he did was to buy a pregnancy test from the store and goes home to take it in the bathroom in his room. "How was the checkup?" She asked. "It's been alright," He said not wanting his mother to know that he was pregnant. Although, he decides to hide the pregnancy from his family and went upstairs to his room. He opens the box and starts taking it in the bathroom. 5 minutes later, the results came back with two lines: Pregnant.

Denver, Colorado
6:00pm,

Jamal was getting dressed up to go to the game as he was feeling like the usual self. However, he wanted to tell the head coach about what had happened, so the first thing he did was that he admitted to him that he was pregnant with the first baby. "Coach I'm pregnant, I'm sorry I didn't know what to do," He said crying in tears. "It was an accident coach, I didn't mean that," "Hey, hey, hey, it's okay. I'm a father also Jamal," Michael Malone said hugging him. "It's alright, don't worry about it," His teammates overheard him about what had happened especially Nikola, Gary, Will and Kenneth. "It will be alright friend, we'll figure out what to do," He nodded and went on with the rest of the game.

~ the next day ~

He comes back home to Canada as he was having breakfast with his family. Unknowingly to the point where his mother noticed Jamal was acting strange. If he were to tell his parents and his little brother that he was expecting a baby, how will it affect his career when it comes to taking care of the baby. He had to find out what was going on. Prior to hiding the pregnancy from his family, he preferred not to tell his family about it or else he would be in trouble.

Jamal Murray POV:

I didn't want to tell my family and my little brother about it because I know for a fact that I will be in trouble for not using the birth control. I thought I did but then me and Isaiah ended up forgetting about it that's why I became pregnant in the first place. Anyways, I'll see what happens. Should I tell my family or not? I'll have to wait and see.
