Damien sits beside Olivia for her homeroom class and tries to get her attention the whole time. As always, she just ignores him angrily.
He leans in and softly says, "I'm sorry. I saw how close you and that guy were standing, and I lost it. I know you haven't agreed to anything yet, and I know I was wrong for saying that. I just got angry and couldn't help it. Please forgive me. "
With a cruel glare, she says, "I'm not talking to you right now. I'm angry. "
He sighs, "I'm sorry. Really, I am."
Mr. Allen comes in, so he sits back in his seat. Throughout the whole class, he sneaks little peeks at Olivia, who notices yet chooses to ignore him. Right after class, she stands up to leave, and Damien is right there by her side. Once again, she just ignores him and goes to her next class, art. Before she can slip inside, he kisses her cheek, erupting a gasp from her.
He takes off before she can even respond. Once she recovers from her shock, she huffs and goes inside. As she does, she allows her mind to wander around. So, she doesn't notice when Rin sits in the seat beside her. Initially, she thought it was Amy, but she is proven wrong when she looks over.
With an awkward smile, he asks, "Is it okay if I sit here? "
She returns his smile, "I don't mind at all. "
He turns to face her a little more, "I'm also sorry for any problems I caused earlier. "
Olivia shakes her head, "You didn't. Damien is only trying to be my boyfriend, but he really isn't. "
Rin tilts his head, and it's almost cute.
"Is there a reason why? I don't mean to be nosey or anything. It's just you're his ma-main focus right now. I see he really likes you. "
"He used to bully me. It was literally just last year. He would call me names, push me into things, and just plain hurt me in so many ways. Now, this year, he wants to date me. I really don't get it. "
Rin contemplates so many things inside of his head. He just can't wrap his head around anything she just said. She doesn't appear to know anything about wolves. That's for sure. And I have no idea why Damien would even bully her. She is so pretty and sweet. If it were me, I would have never treated her so badly at all. What's wrong with that guy? Olivia places a hand on his shoulder, startling him slightly. He looks at her.
She gives him a concerned look, "Are you okay? You went quiet for a minute there."
"Yeah. I was just thinking. I apologize. Would you like to be my friend? I like talking to you. "
"Are you sure? I'm not very popular, and you have the potential to be. I mean, you're handsome and really nice. "
She catches herself and blushes, " I'm sorry. I tend to ramble."
He laughs, "You're fine. I'm flattered you think I'm handsome. As for popularity, I don't care for it. I honestly enjoy your company. As a bonus, you've cute."
He blush grows darker, "Th-thank you. "
The rest of the class is nice. They chat as they work on an assignment, and she just feels so comfortable and relaxed around him. She finds that he is just a really nice guy. After class, he's nice enough to walk her to her next one, and then leaves afterward. She smiles as she starts thinking that maybe this year will be a little better.
There's a high-pitched voice that yells, "Hey whale!"
Her smile drops, and she changes her mind. Approaching her is a person that she detests even more than Damien, Heather. She is now the "queen bee" of the school.
She screeches, "What do you think you are doing? "
With a confused look, Olivia says, "Going to class?"
"No fatty. What are you doing with Damien? "
"I'm not doing anything. He keeps bothering me. "
"As if! Why would he want an ugly whale like you when he can have me?"
"Maybe he just doesn't want an ugly stick. Why don't you ask him? "
Heather raises her hand to slap Olivia, but before she can, a hand grabs her arm. It's Jared, Damien's best friend.
"Damien wouldn't like you doing that." He then leans in and whispers something in her ear, though Olivia can't hear him.
Heather runs away, screaming and crying. Olivia looks at Jared, "What did you tell her?"
The bell rings, so he smiles and just leaves without another word. She shakes off the confusion and just goes into her class. She doesn't want to be late.
After it's over, she goes to her locker to grab her lunch bag. Damien walks over and leans his arm against her locker. There's an upset look on his face.

She looks at him, "Whats got your panties in a bunch? "
He looks back at her, "I heard about Heather. I promise she won't bother you again. "
"So, you plan to stop the bullies now? That involves a lot of your little friends too you know."
"I promise no one will ever bully you again. I'll protect you. "
Before she can even respond, there's another deep voice, "There should never have been a reason for you to protect her. She's beautiful and sweet. I don't know why you were ever even mean to her."
They both turn and see that it's Rin. Damien growls and stands in front of Olivia.
"This is none of your business. " He sneers.
Rin walks up to him, "I've decided to make it my business. You don't deserve her."
Damien growls again, "I know that. But I'm trying. "
Olivia steps out from behind Damien, "Knock it off. I'm going to lunch. Don't follow me. Either of you. "
As she walks away, she hears two whimpers. Shaking her head, she asks inwardly, "What is with all the whimpers and growling?" What are they? Dogs?
