Mates (Original version)

Chapter 10

Throughout the week, several things happen. One of these things, was Damien and Rin trying practically begging her to change her mind about hanging out with Mike. She refuses each time: her and Mike were super excited. They had tried inviting Amy, but she decline, saying she won't be in town.  She has to go with her parents to see her grandparents for the weekend.

Secondly, a rumor has started in the school: it's about Heather and her friends.  The rumor is that Heather and two of her friends, the ones responsible for the attack, have all left to go to boarding school. The rumor said they weren't actually sick with that flu that was going around. They decided to skip and get in with the wrong crowd. It's what the pack came up with because Heather and those girls will not be going back to school.

The punishment they received was going to a special training camp for unruly wolves. It's run by an uncle of one of the pack warriors. Damien decided that would be the best punishment since it would teach them a lesson and it would also make Olivia happy because they were not harmed. They will be at the training camp for the rest of their high school life.

Olivia has a normal routine for school now. Damien would pick her up and when they arrived Rin would be in the parking lot waiting. They would argue as they walked with her inside. It was the same thing every day. Both Alphas were trying extremely hard to win her over. Both were complete gentlemen to her.

It's now Friday and school is over. The plan is for Mike to go to Olivia's house, and they would hang out until the movie. This was decided because Olivia's house is closer. After the movie, they would head back, and Mike would stay in the guest room. He is the unofficial adopted sibling. The guest room is always open for him.

When Damien and Rin got an ear of what the plan was, they were both angry. Neither wanted Mike to spend the night. They just couldn't grasp that Olivia and Mike only see each other as siblings. But neither male had a say.

Damien gave Olivia and Mike a ride home since he gives Olivia rides home every day. He just looked sour the whole time. When they arrived at Olivia's house, she told Mike to go on in. He already had a copy of the key.

Olivia looks at Damien, "You need to stop pouting. I told you, he's like a brother. My parents unofficially kind of adopted him. Nothing will ever happen between him and I."

Damien sighs, "I know. But you still can't blame me for being a bit upset. I would have loved to take you. I want to spend time with you."

She huffs, "Would it make you feel better if I said you could come tomorrow morning for breakfast? I'll cook a big breakfast."

He jerks his head to her, "Really? What time can I come?"

She laughs, "How about 9:00 am. That would give me time to get up and prep."

He is practically shaking with excitement, "Okay. I will be here."

She giggles and leans to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. Then she gets out and runs to her door.

Damien sits with a huge grin on his face touching his cheek. She kissed his cheek. She gave him affection. He was so happy at that little act. He went home smiling like a mad man. His parents were even weary of him. He didn't care.

Meanwhile, Olivia walked into her house a little shocked at what she just did. She was really falling for him. She was not sure how to feel about that.

Mike came from the kitchen grinning, "So, did you have a nice talk?"

Olivia looks at him, "Why are you grinning?"

"No reason."

She narrows her eyes at him, "That grin isn't saying nothing. Now spill or no waffles for you tomorrow."

Mike gasps, "You can't take away my waffles. I will die."

"Then spill why you are grinning."

"Fine. I saw the kiss on the cheek. You two are adorable."

She rolls her eyes and marches into the kitchen, "We aren't adorable and that was an accident."

Mike snorts, "Oh. An accident. Yeah. Just leaning in and kissing cheeks."

She turns around and throws paper towels at him. Unfortunately, her aim is so terrible it missed him completely. This causes Mike to laugh so hard he falls to the floor.

She yells, "Hey! It's not funny. I have no idea why I kissed his cheek. It just happened."

He stands up and smiles, "Maybe you are actually starting to like him. He has been trying hard."

"He has but I'm still unsure. There isn't like a time limit or anything with the mate bond is there?"

He shakes his head, "No. The only thing is a wolf will get more and more agitated when they are not with their mate. He's probably going stir crazy right now. I'm no trying to make you feel any kind of way, just stating facts."

"Well, I'm just not ready for a decision. There is a lot of hurt that still lingers. I just don't know."

"Hey. It's ok. Damien is handling it. He will not ever force you into a decision."

She hugs Mike, "Thank you. You have always been a rock for me."

He returns the hug, "Of course. I'm always here for you."

Mike pulls away, "Okay. No more mushy stuff. Let's have a snack before we go to the movie."

Olivia agrees, "Yes. I can heat us up some pizza rolls."

He fist pumps, "Yes! I love pizza rolls."

She rolls her eyes and giggles, "Okay. I'll make a bunch so I can eat some this time."

"Hey! I share."

After a fun snack time the two make their way to the movies. While standing in line at the concession line to get some popcorn and drinks, Olivia sees something out of the corner of her eye. Or more like a couple of someone. She turns her head fully to make sure she is seeing it. Sure enough, she does.

Near the cardboard cut outs for some movie, trying to hide behind them was Damien and Rin. Both males were trying to not be seen but failing miserably. Olivia sighs and gently elbows Mike.

Mike looks at her, "What?"

She says lowly, "Casually look towards the cutouts."

Mike does and chuckles, "I see. They aren't very good at hiding."

"I am going to scare them. Can you get me a sprite and some popcorn? I will pay you back."

"You know I won't take your money, right?"

"Ugh! Fine! But I will repay you somehow."

"You're making my waffles tomorrow. I say that's payment."

Olivia shakes her head and laughs, "Okay deal."

She acts like she's heading to the bathroom which is right near the cutouts. Damien and Rin try to move as far over as possible so she wouldn't see them. As soon as she passed them and was around the corner, they relaxed a bit. But she jumped out and said boo. Both males screamed. This cracked up Olivia and Mike who was watching from the concession line. It draws attention from other people for a few seconds, but everyone goes back to their own business.

Olivia looks at them, "What are you two doing here? And what's with trying to hide? You are giants. It doesn't work."

Damien huffs, "I was just going to try to catch a movie. I don't know what Ronald is doing here."

Rin growls, "It's Rin. I'm here to see a movie too."

She shakes her head, "I don't believe that for a second. Leave us alone. We are having bestie time and you both are ruining it."

Damien sighs, "I just wanted to make sure you were safe. I'm sorry."

Rin hangs his head, "I'm sorry too.

Olivia shakes her head, "I am safe with Mike. Now you two go do what ever just don't disrupt Mike and I."

They both nod. She leaves them standing there with their heads hung low.
