It was the day of the party.
The sound of my alarm rang in my ears conjoined with the sound of my mum screaming at someone downstairs. Annoyed, I dragged myself out of bed and picked up my phone, opening my bedroom door to go downstairs.
My family's mansion was colossal, with its high ceilings, opulent furnishings, intricate architecture and the spacious surroundings, it was the perfect place to live. Making my way down the sweeping staircase, I greeted the maids and Butler's whilst making my way to the dinning room.
Opening the door, I saw my brother and father conversing while indulging into their breakfasts. The dining room was truly a sight to behold, the marble and gold which adorned the walls and floors was perfect. I would never realise how lucky I am to live here if I hadn't been away for five years.
"Good morning Y/n your always up on time aren't you." My dad said to me smiling. He and my brother are the closest people to me, the always support me and never judge me. Even though, my relationship with my mum is beyond repairable neither take sides.
"Good morning papa, you know I love waking up on time" I told him.
"Sis don't lie your only up because your going somewhere, if not you would've been in your bedroom sobbing like you do everyday. " My brother said to me.
"Alessandro don't lie on me now, I literally used to wake you up." I said crossing my arms.
"Fine sis I apologise." He said.
"My dear daughter please sit down I'll have the maids get your meal." My dad said.
"Okay!" I replied taking a seat next to my cheeky brother.I felt at peace eating breakfast with the two of them. It reminded me of when I was child. Growing up in Milan, was always fun for me the city itself was perfect. For Christmas I'd go skiing in the Italian mountains and in the summer we would go to Monaco or other parts of the world. My dad always made it his quest for me and Alessandro to have a normal life, not letting us know of the family we were born in until we were 16.
Growing us up in Milan was also apart of keeping us safe, even though, organised crime was still present here it was still way more undercover than it is in Sicilly or Rome. Most mafia familys would only invest in Milan not live here meaning my brother and I were able to go to school. However, every year my family and I had to make trips to the Vatican to pray. Which my brother dreaded for some reason.
After I turned 16, I started doing even more Rigourous training than I used too. Just to learn how to protect myself from my enemys. My mum never wanted me to learn combat of any sort, but I always begged dad to show me so I can defend the ones I loved in battle. At some point I loved training so much that after I finished college, I committed my life to the mafia completing missions as a soldier slowly rising up to the rank of Corpergime.
That's when my mums resentment of me began.
"Miss Y/n here is your breakfast." The maid said placing it in front of me.
"Thank you. " I replied.
"Y/n you love croissants so much, why?" My brother asked.
"It reminds me of childhood." I told him. After finishing my meal my dad looked at me concerned. "y/n are you sure you don't need anyone accompanying you to the party?" He asked.
"I'm fine papa." I said smiling.
"Okay just remember to bring a weapon of some sort just incase. You know what family we are from right." My dad said chuckling. My brother and I joined in with his laughs.
"Dad she knows okay and she is our 3rd best fighter in the gang, you know." My brother said.
"EXCUSE ME! I may have been out of action for a year but you aren't better than me." I said unimpressed by my brother's words.
"If you say so." He said in a mocking tone. All three of us laughed finding this whole situation funny. Once we all finished up our breakfasts, my father and brother went on a mission while I went to prepare for the party in my room.
