The remainder of the day I spent with Rohnan, discussing my scouting trip, his schooling, training and social life. He even admitted to having a crush. After a sparring session, a few workout sets followed by dinner we watched the sun set from the balcony of our room. I missed the simple days of just his company. Pretending to be a normal family, in a normal life, doing normal things, engaging in playful banter while cooking dinner.

"You know I don't like what Liam did to you mum" he admitted quietly. I glanced over, watching the wind tug at his growing hair, the fading suns rays turning his skin a dark honey-golden colour "I felt like I wanted to challenge him when he brought you here unconscious" my chest tightened.

"I know Roh, he lost control and neither of us were able to contain it" I heard him sigh "please promise me you won't challenge Liam?" I added softly. Rohnan didn't respond, feeling him reach over and grip my hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze

"I promise for now I'll keep my place. But I can't promise once I'm able to defend you, I won't tolerate his lack of control" I gave my son a small smile. After everything we had been through, he would never stand by and watch me get hurt again

"Yeah...I just hope that day never comes" I murmured, allowing the silence to wash over us as we continued to watch the light fade from the city.

After a few hours of conversation Rohnan said good night and headed to bed. I waited to feel his body relax into a deep sleep before slipping out. I glanced at Braydon sitting in the shadows nearby

"I won't be gone long. No one but me is allowed to enter" I instructed. Braydon gave a short nod before resuming his position. Walking quietly through the tower I observed those still out after hours, the night shift workers, immersing themselves in conversations with neighbors and friends. We had no curfew, but everyone knew their duties and roles. Having a good nights rest was important, especially when it could be your last.

My mind drift while my body wondered through the levels, seeking out and gently connecting with every Aura residing in the Tower. Those with greater powers responded with a gentle nudge, the others didn't even register my touch.

My stomach twisted in a knot, the feeling of something significant coming. I had felt the ripple in my powers and knew some of the others also started to feel it. Even with the full moon only a few nights away, the new lessor auras and pack members beginning to ready themselves for the bunker trip until it passed - a precaution for those still learning to control the change - the heavy feeling in my gut continued to grow. The numbers of survivors seemed to be slowly dwindling, aside from Clarice no new powerful Aura's had been found. Jax and Glen's group had been the first in months.

I considered calling us what many, mainly our lovely fantasy fanatic, believed the downcast Aura's to be. But saying the words out loud seemed ridiculous, almost taking away the seriousness of the threat they all posed when the full moon came.

Werewolves.

I snorted at the thought. Such a ridiculous notion to believe. However, it didn't stop the curiosity on how accurate it seemed. Sure, all pack members and lessor aura's shifted into a large wolf type creature, the ferals resembling a wild and animalistic version of them. A version they turned into without an Alpha to keep it in check. All humanity lost, no shifting back, consumed by blood lust. But that didn't make us....werewolves. Did it? First Gen Aura's could shift at will, not controlled by the full phase of the moon. But even Xavier had explained the experience scared the hell out of him. His body had been consumed by a flush of heat amidst the fry of rage, body vibrating while something emerged from deep within his mind. The pain as his body twisted into another form beyond anything he could explain with words. He hadn't shifted since.
