Xavier

The Tower bustled with activity, shouts carried over the courtyard as Xavier strode through the groups of people. He had sought out a few he knew were loyal to Aiyanna, more so than Liam, and weren't afraid to go against orders if needed. Liam was losing control, and if Xavier didn't locate Aiyanna soon the possibility Xavier would have to challenge him grew daunting.

Deep down Xavier knew he would beat his friend in a fight, he had known for a while that his powers gave him the upper hand. But that didn't mean he wanted to. He felt curious eyes following him as he made his way towards the scouting tent, the area growing silent as he approached. The whispers had started to circulate, that he and Liam were now in discord. Xavier could feel the slight hope many of them held that he would step up to the challenge.

His only focus was Aiyanna for now. Whether they still felt the same once she returned would be a conversation between them. He had no desire to lead, but would if the duty called for him.

Rohnan had been locked in his room since Liam had ordered him away. He had not answered the door when Xavier had been to check, but could feel his Aura presence so at least he knew he hadn't left the Tower.
He felt the boys pain. The feeling of betrayal by his Alpha and loss of his mother was overwhelming at times through the pack link, and Xavier did what he could to ease that wound. Rohnan had wanted to join the search parties, begged him with tears in his eyes, but with so much emotion guiding his actions it would only lead to chaos out in the City.
He just prayed Aiyanna was alive. He couldn't begin to imagine what it would do to the boy.

Jax was waiting with a group of others, his persistence to help was welcomed, but it was also a burden; he had not been trained to scout yet.

"I'm not staying behind" his rough voice drifted over as Xavier approached. Xavier's eyes flicked to a young male, Darren, he was in charge of all scouting groups. He shrugged, glancing at Jax

"He is a fast learner, he's been attending all training lessons, and he's here before the sun" he folded his arms over his chest, clearly impressed "if you're not careful he might put your training record to shame" a chuckles echoed around the tent "for once" Xavier raised an eyebrow

"Last I checked Aiyanna still held record" he glanced around, noting a few other had started to wonder over. Darren scoffed

"We don't count her score, only a damn god can beat that" Xavier felt his chest rumble as he laughed. She had spent hours, days even, training with the new comers. It had never been a competition until Xavier showed up, always trying to beat her scores. After a while he realised he would kill himself before he reached that goal

"We are doing a short supplies run to the warehouse, and scout the eastern boarder" Xavier directed the conversation to the task at hand "the ferals have been spotted heading west so we may as well take this opportunity while we can" Darren nodded in agreement

"Nightmare screams have been fewer in number the past few nights, as if they are slowly moving away from the Tower" Xavier frowned at that. Odd. The nightmares had always stayed close to the Tower, hoping to score a meal from whoever didn't make it back before dark

"We stick to the rules" Xavier looked at the faces around him. He had trained the past few years alongside many that were here "no one out after dark, no being a hero, no showing off. We stick together, and come home alive" he wasn't great at pep talks, but always found himself giving one in his own way somehow. Everyone nodded, Xavier's gut twisting with worry; why did it feel like something bad was about to happen? "Alright, stock up, meet at the gate in fifteen minutes" everyone moved to grab the necessary items and packs.
