Xavier
The sun had started to dip towards the horizon, the cool breeze from the south bringing the promise of rain. There had been no ferals the entire journey to the warehouse, or the scout to the boarder. Even the trip back to the Tower was silent, to the point it rattled Xavier's nerves more than hearing the howls of tracking ferals.
Jax had been surprisingly quiet, keeping close to Xavier, watching his movements and signals, adapting to commands quickly and easier than expected. As annoying as it was, Xavier felt slightly impressed.
As they began approaching the Tower, Xavier's mind wondering to Aiyanna's whereabouts, he felt a sudden draw of power nearby, the feeling unfamiliar and foreign. His footsteps faltered as he looked around, feeling the source nearby indicated they may have been followed. Jax noticed his sudden change and glanced around also, notifying the rest of the group of the unease. All eyes snapped to Xavier's figure as he stood still, ears perked for any sound nearby.
As he went to issue for them to keep moving her scent hit his nose. Her aura faint, barely brushing his as Aiyanna reached out. His heart stopped in his chest, senses kicking into overdrive as he expanded his powers around him, searching for her whereabouts. Xavier's stomach twisted in panic when he felt her powers slip away; something was seriously wrong.
Shouldering his gun Xavier raced forward and down an alleyway in the direction he had felt her powers come from. As he approached her location another scent drifted to his nose, it was of lavender and honey mixed with spices. The smell knocked him off guard, his feet stumbling as memories of his time travelling before the fall came to mind, the fresh smell of home made curry, fields of flowers and early morning spring.
It was the strangest feeling, yet it filled him with a warmth he didn't recognize.
Shaking his head Xavier pushed forward, Jax hot on his heels. When he round the last corner he felt a cry leave his mouth, eyes locking on her frame laying on the ground. In a blink he was at her body, arms sliding beneath Aiyanna to lift her up gently, cradling her frame to his chest as he turned and raced towards the Tower, barking an order at Jax to bring the group back.
He could feel as her mind slipped away, her powers all but diminished, indicating she had been using an immense amount for to long. He reached for her mind, calling out to her in hopes she would hear and come back. But no matter how he called, and how much of his own powers he started pushing into Aiyanna, she slipped further and further away.
With panic starting to rise Xavier pushed his legs harder, screaming for the gates to be open. He needed to get her to Rohnan, his Aura matched hers on a level he could only assume because he was her son, their magic synchronized differently to all others.
Xavier raced up the street, the Tower gates slowly opening before him, the rest of his group tried to keep up and failed, realising Xavier was using his powers to move quicker than humanly possible. He didn't pause once inside, racing past multiple people who had been waiting for their return, glimpsing a few shocked faces when they spotted Aiyanna unconscious in his arms.
Xavier reached out and notified Rohnan, the boys immense joy washed over him, bringing tears to his eyes as his emotions travelled through the pack link. In a moment to late Xavier tried to contain that emotion, but Liam felt it. He began racing towards Xavier's location, commanding Xavier to bring Aiyanna to him. He gritted his teeth, anger boiling in his chest at the brazen attempt to use authority. He couldn't let Liam touch Aiyanna, he didn't know if he had the strength to stop himself from challenging the Alpha just to keep his friend safe.
Pulling on more of his Aura Xavier used it to propel himself through the Tower, hoping it would be enough to get to Rohnan's place before Liam could catch up, closing his mind from the rest of the pack to hopefully slow Liam down.
