Aiyanna
Rage boiled in my stomach as I watched the door handle to the room I was now being held in twitch. I could hear both Daegon and Trixa speaking outside, their shock at my resilience was a nice change, but it had a downside as well.
I could feel my ability to push back faltering. I wouldn't be able to hold back for much longer, just long enough to get out again. I pulled on more power and picked up the closest piece of furniture that wasn't destroyed. After I had woken up from the forced sleep, I was unable to stop myself from trying every possible way to break through the wards and walls that held me prisoner.
Trixa had tried to talk to me a few times, but I had no interest in conversation anymore. I just wanted to go home. The look on Daegon's face as the dresser hurtled towards his face was enough to make me smile, and the shock that I was still able to use enough to move furniture was a nice little ego boost.
But when that damn Alpha drew on more power from his pack's Aura's, the weight forced me to my knees.
If it wasn't for my desire to get back to my son, I would have given in ages ago. But I knew once I was asleep again, who knew when he would wake me back up. I heard a shuffle near the door, anger spiking again as my eyes locked with his gorgeous forest green ones, my chest tightening as the images from the forest came to mind.
Damn mutt I growled in my head. I couldn't let him get the upper hand again. Using what little strength I had left I charged at him, not knowing if the surprise would aid my escape, or sink myself further into trouble. Either way I needed to do something. The shock on his face was enough to fuel my attacks as he barely dodged or blocked in time.
Something seemed to distract the Alpha for a moment, his concentration slipping enough to miss my strike to his face, and taking the entire blow to his nose. Daegon stumbled back, tripping over the broken furniture and falling ungracefully to the ground.
I didn't wait to see if he was down for the count. I bolted for the open door, only to come face to face with Trixa, her pale blue eyes startling, her hands held up to show she was no threat. I bared my teeth at her, barely keeping my weak and slipping grip on my powers. I didn't have long before I would be overwhelmed and a light hearted chit-chat wasn't on my escape agenda
"Please" her voice was barely a whisper "let me help" she added. Shock rippled through me, and doubt stabbed the back of my mind at her motives, but Daegon wouldn't be down for long and I needed to get out
"I just want to go home" the words slipped from my mouth before I could stop them, exhaustion weighing me down. Trixa simply nodded, her hands falling to her sides as she started down the hall, glancing back when I didn't follow
"I wouldn't linger Aiyanna" I blinked a few times to process what was happening before setting after her, feeling my skin starting to tingle as Trixa's voice washed over me and echoed in my mind
Stay close, I have hidden you from their sight, but it won't last long and they will still be able to smell you. We need to move quickly her voice sounded in my head, feeling like a cold mist. We passed one of Daegon's second in command, Treyton? He seemed to hesitate when Trixa passed by, but whatever transpired between them made the man quickly move on without question. My gut twisted in worry; that seemed to easy
They are more afraid of Daegon's wrath that my strange motives she answered, almost as if she read my mind it's more of a feeling you give off that I respond to she added. We reached outside, my heart skipping a beat as a roar echoed through the building. A few shouts sounded from the right and glancing over I watched as pack members started running around. My breath caught when I thought they were coming for me, until I realised they were running towards the perimeter instead. I glanced at Trixa
