The moment she decided to take Koba's knot, she kept Caterina asleep with all the strength she had. Lula planned to keep meeting Koba on his runs of the pack and hoped her resolve would stay strong long enough until they got pregnant.
This is crazy, and yet it feels so right. Lula thought at the madness of taking over her human to get pregnant. But, for tonight, she didn't have any regrets. She was too happy on the high of intimately being with her Mate to feel anything other than happy.
It was late when she got back to her room. She almost flipped on the lights till she noticed a lump snuggled in her sheets. Tangles of black hair spilled over the comforters edge, and she left the room cast in darkness. Rosalita had come over to ask how the run had gone and fell asleep while waiting for us. Lula decided not to interrupt her slumber and, instead, stripped down to our undergarments and joined her under the covers.

I woke the next morning with the sweet scent of apple shampoo on my sheets, a hazy memory, and an ache in my pelvis. "What the fuck happened last night?" I tried to think back, but all my memories ended during Lula and Koba's time together running. Lula didn't respond- I assumed feeling just as tired as I did. I shifted in the sheets, and that's when I noticed the wetness between my legs that accompanied the soreness. That's when the apple shampoo really clicked for me and I nearly had a heart attack realizing I wasn't alone in bed.
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck I swore in my head, peeking one eye open to assess the company I had. Rosalita laid next to me, curled on her side just beside me. I could feel her calf intertwined around my leg. Double fuck, I lifted the cover and as my fears predicted, my panties and the sheets under me were stained red. Fuck my life, how do I explain this? I had started my period overnight and I had a front row witness. What was I supposed to do?
"Cat?" Rosalita mumbled tiredly. Her head lifted off the pillow as she rubbed at her eyes. "You okay?" she woke when she felt my shifting, then noticed how stiff and quiet I had gotten next to her.
"Yep- " I squeeked, " -absolutely fine." My voice was an octave higher than natural- not good. I clasped my mouth shut and bit my lip. I pulled the comforter closer, holding it down tight while Rosalita gave me a strange look.
"Did something happen last night?" Oooh. Maybe I can play this off with last night...if I can just get her out of this bed.
"Actually..." I glanced away from her as I racked my brain with what to say about 'last night'. I paused too long. Rosalita sat up, her legs disentangling from mine and shifting the bed sheets. She started to move closer, thinking she may need to console me. I wasn't clean, the bed wasn't clean, and I blurted out "Rosalita, stop!" before I thought how my actions would come across.
My stubborn outburst startled Rosalita and she looked me over with new, suspicious eyes. "Cat, are you hiding something?" She sensed it. Goddamn, this woman really knew how to read me like a book.
"I'm not, I just...I just need some time to mself, okay? I haven't had time to process last night and I want to be alone. Is that too much to ask?" Rosalita blinked in shock. That was the last thing she was expecting me to say to her. Inside, I was banging my head against the wall. I hated how harsh it had come out, but she needed to leave. Any other morning, I would have been all over the surprise of waking up to her in my bed, but today it was like I woke up to a nightmare.
"Fine-" She threw her hands in the air, " -I'll go." she slid out of the bed with a huff. I quickly held down her side of the comforter that fluttered up with her exit; and, breathing a sigh of relief that she didn't see my crazy behavior with her back still to me. "But not until you explain-" Fuck me again She turned back to me, the look in her eye telling me she was not leaving without answers. " -why I smell blood. Or have you seriously forgotten that I'm a werewolf, too? Cat, did he hurt you?! I know Noah and I have ben pushing you to be together, but not if-"
