Prismarine stumbled back, dumbfounded. His sister was standing in front of him, ready–no, wanting–to kill him.

"B-Bay? Is t-that you?"

He looked at his sister, tears welling in his eyes. She sent him a calculating look; she was looking him over.

"Prismarine," Bay sent him a look, and she stuck a talon out into the shaft of sunlight, flexing her talons. Prismarine gulped at how sharp and long they looked. Training as a guard was really making her more terrifying. "I want you to know that I–"

"Don't," Prismarine cut her off, tears slipping down his snout. "I just want to go home. To escape this hellspace. Please."

Bay paused looking at her little brother's face.

"I can't let you do that." Her voice cracked at the 'let' part.

Her grip loosened on his tail, and Prismarine managed to slip out of her grip. The whole world seemed to hold its breath, waiting for Prismarine's reaction. Then the world started to tumble. Falling debris tumbled around Prismarine; one nearly fell on his tail. He yelped, feeling sharp rocks patter his tucked wings. He ran away from his sister, tears splattering onto the bones surrounding the tunnel. Prismarine headed towards the sunlight. The beautiful sunlight. He was knocked down by something. Disoriented, Prismarine looked at the sunlight, which was slowly fading. He found himself thinking about Monsoon and Hare and Majestic.

Please, He wished. Let one of them rescue me now.

"Bay, please!" Prismarine yelled, battling back tears. "I just want to go home!"

Bay looked at him with sadness. Prismarine's vision filled with tears, his vision getting blurry. He could make out Bay's sad gaze. She looked so hurt to be doing this. "Bay," Prismarine choked out. "Why? Why are you doing this? How long have you been doing this?"

Bay blinked, looking at him. "Why are you asking this?"

"Please." Prismarine looked at her. "I've been doing this for about a moon," she admitted. "Venus first came to me, acting timid. She had offered to pay me to kill dragons, like her own little bodyguard. I hurt dragons, sometimes badly, so they wouldn't escape. At first, I had thought, 'Oh, this is fun! I'm learning more than I would've under that lazy SeaWing Conch!' It still does feel that way—why am I telling you this? I'm here to kill you!"

Prismarine gulped. "And....?" He said shakily.

"I don't want to," Bay said. "Prismarine—so much dragon blood is on my talons. I don't want it to be yours too," She looked at Prismarine sadly. "Don't make me do it, Prismarine."

Prismarine blinked, battling back tears. "I-I don't know,"

"I joined Venus to eradicate the purebreds, Prismarine," Bay said suddenly. "Don't you want to also? All they've done is enslave us, abuse us, hurt us." Prismarine thought of Majestic. Hadn't Monsoon said she had a tragic past?

"No, Bay." Prismarine said, mustering his courage.

He rose up from the floor, his talons shaking. He was aware of Bay's flexing talons near his tail. Prismarine stopped shaking, and he met Bay's eyes. "Do you really want to eradicate the purebreds? Kill your friends and family, Bay? Mother was a purebred, and Father is, too. Many of your friends are purebreds too."

Bay's eyes were large, glossy, and Prismarine could tell she was holding back tears. Prismarine relaxed, closing his eyes.

"Fine, Bay. If you really want to kill me. Do it."

He thought of his friends.

Of Saturn.

He thought of that one night Saturn had slept over. When they had stayed up late, watching the stars, and when Saturn had fallen asleep on him, and they had ended up sleeping together.

"Do it," Prismarine put on a peaceful look. "I've lived a good life."

He thought of Saturn again.

He then imagined Bay bringing her talons down on his neck, ripping it open, making him bleed out onto the stone cold ground, scarlet-ruby drops falling from his neck.

But his sister did something else.

She said something Prismarine would never expect her to say.

"No."
