Prismarine looked at Darkmist. "Wait, what?"
The SeaWing hybrid was confused.
Darkmist looked at Prismarine. "Oh, that's right. You didn't get the message. I was the one who had lit that fire."
"What?" Prismarine repeated. "Did you come up with the idea?" He asked.
"No....Blossom made it up. Her plan was for me to get captured by Venus, figure out where we are, and then report to the others on where, and they'll figure out a plan to escape." He explained.
"They....they wanted to help me?" Prismarine asked. "Even though I don't know them?"
"Hare wants to help you," Darkmist explained. "The others all voted on not helping."
"Wow," Prismarine snarked. "Such great dragons."
Saturn butted in, pushing Prismarine behind him. "Wait, what are you talking about? I don't even know you. We don't know most of these dragons. How are we sure you're not a spy sent in by Venus, to spy and see if any of the prisoners are planning a riot?" He asked.
Prismarine settled on one of the mats, resting his head on his talons, listening to the arguing dragons in the background. This continued on for hours, and a dragon, a SandWing, came by to give them food.
"Are you managing the NightWing?" They asked gruffly.
"Sure," Prismarine shrugged. "By the way, I heard there's a new recruit. I think their name was Bay, possibly. How are they doing?"
The SandWing looked at Prismarine. "They're not a new recruit," they stated. "They've been on for a while, and they're doing fine. Venus had to take her over for a while, though."
"So....about Venus taking dragons over....can she just do it to anyone? Anytime?"
"No," The SandWing explained. "She takes over dragons who have willingly eaten the breath of evil."
"Really?" Prismarine asked. "I thought the breath of evil was against the law. Also, if you're supposed to be a guard, why are you telling important information to a prisoner?"
"You're not a prisoner. There's nothing holding me back from telling you anything. Also, Venus doesn't like it when dragons say 'prisoner'. You're more like a....dragon living for free in someone's home, but they can't leave."
"So like a prisoner."
"I guess. Anway, here's your food for today."
The food was a dead bird, with a cooked lizard on the side and fish. Prismarine looked at the food.
There's no vegetarian option? That sucks.
Prismarine poked at the food, and he offered it to the arguing dragons in the background. Prismarine rolled his eyes, seeing them scarf down the food. His belly rumbled, but Prismarine didn't feel like eating this food. They could've been sick, for all they knew!
"So, Darkmist," Prismarine stated, snuggling under Saturn's wing. "Tell me about this plan for us to escape."
"Well," Darkmist began. "We're planning on somehow getting me to get our location right now. After I have that information, then I go to the surface, where either Majestic or Monsoon will be waiting."
"Why not Hare? Or Blossom?"
"Hare is the IceWing princess, so it'd be too dangerous to leave her out in the open. Blossom is also wanted by Venus, so it wouldn't be smart to bring her out. Whereas Monsoon is an assassin, and she would seem inconspicuous, not suspicious at all. Majestic also, isn't suspicious at all. But....Venus would want to kill her, from what everyone had told me."
"Ah, okay. Tell me more."
"After I tell them our location, we return to the 'prison' and wait until they come to rescue us." Prismarine blinked. He slipped his goggles farther up his snout; they had fallen off. Prismarine felt around his body, and he noticed there were several scratches on his tail. Bay's talons had hurt him, but intentionally, or not? The hybrid looked at his friend in the cell. Prismarine then found himself wondering what it would have been like if he had accepted his older sister's offer. Would he really want to annihilate his friends? Even if he was against purebreds?
"Darkmist, can you tell me how you plan on getting the location of where we are?" Prismarine asked nonchalantly.
Darkmist nodded. "Okay. My plan is to ask the guards for some food, and then talk to the idiot SandWing you were talking too, SeaWing, and ask him if he knew where we were, and once I had the location—"
"—and ruin my base," someone said from behind him. "And then I wouldn't have anywhere to live."
Venus emerged from the shadows.
"Would you really like to ruin your friend's home?"
