Chapter 20

Lucy's POV

"No can do." I said and eat a scoop of my ice cream

"Huh why not? I already told you right, I like you. Okay, can you just let me court you?" he said looking through my eyes. I don't know if he's serious but I think I'll play with him a little.

"Let's just make a "bet" shall we?" I said quoting the term bet. He suddenly shifted his eyes to the ground, he looks guilty of something.

"What's wrong? Afraid to lose?" I said sounding cheeky while getting my things and about to stand up. He pull my hand and stood up.

"Lucy, I...I want to tell you something." he said. I think I know where this is going. He holds both of my hands and cupped it with his.

"About the bet..."he said but before he ruined everything I cut him.

"It's pretty easy but not that easy when I am your opponent." I said and pull my hands back and left the store.

I hurriedly ran to my car and put the keys on. I hold my chest and it's pounding so quick. I was really nervous back there. I can't let him confess about the bet. I don't want to lose this game he started.

I came home and straight to my bed. I lay down in prone position and hug my big panda bear. A fling of mine gave it to me. It's just so cute that's why I kept it. I was just enjoying the taste of my bed until someone rings the doorbell. I get up to check who is that person that interrupted my moment with my bed-sama.

I looked at the peeping hole and what are the odds, it's Natsu Dragneel. I opened the door for him and surprisingly he holds a big teddy bear, bigger than my panda, a bouquet of roses and a chocolate box. What is he up to now?!

"I told you right, I'm going to court you." he said

"I never agreed to that right. I told you we should have a bet." I repeated. I let him in and he gave me all his presents.

"Okay I'm in with your bet, what is it?" he asked

"You know that the school festival is coming right?" I said crossing my arms on the sofa

"Yeah why?" he asked titling his head

"There are going to have some game competition and I am going to enter again this year like the previous years. I think you know that I am always the champion of all games in the school festival. I heard about you, that you are great with anything also but you choose not to participate." I said but looking at him, I can conclude that he really didn't know me before. Unbelievable!

"Here's the deal. If you beat me twice in any game in the school festival, I can be your girlfriend like you want, but if you lose, you need to stay away from me for a month. What do you say?"

"Alright let's do this!" he said really pumped up "I'm going to pick you up tomorrow for school. Okay. Eat and sleep tight and have a nice dream. I have something to do today so I will be out for tonight. Bye Luce."he said and left. I don't want him to take me lightly. I want him to suffer. I want him to struggel just to get me. I guess playing hard to get is just not my style.

"Juvia, this is the day. Make sure you can make a progress throughout the day." I said. Juvia and I are at the locker room at the gymnasium. We are going to have our first game here. Volleyball. 

The teams are picked in random order in each class. I guess today is my lucky day because my friends are my team mates, Erza, Cana, and Juvia, and some boys from the other class.

Our opponent are the guys I want to destroy. Natsu and Gray. I guess its really a perfect day to start crushing them. I'm the captain ball in our team while it's Gray on the other.

We positioned ourselves on our court. I place myself below the net and across me is Gray.

"Goodluck." I said smirking at him

"You as well." He said

When the game has started my mind is only focused on the game. I always try my best to receive the balls coming to Juvia's side because the truth is she can't play volley ball. And that's my advantage of our 'game'. As expected we won the first round, and its time to make the magic happen. Juvia's position is below the net since we rotate places.

"Juvia is scared, Lucy-san."  Juvia said

"Okay." she said and I went to the serving line. It's our turn to serve. I spike the ball and it landed on Natsu. He really is good in sports like the rumors will say but not good enough to beat me. I can see that he is struggling to receive and return back the ball. I guess its because he didn't play this game for a long time.

"Natsu! You can do it!!!" Lisanna? Why is she cheering for him?! That traitor b*tch. She made me missed my turn. Now they have a points coming from me.

"I'm sorry guys, I got distracted." I said to the team

"Don't worry captain it's just a point, we are still on the lead." Cana said

"Thanks. Alright lets do this. Fight!"

"Fight!!!"

"Sorry but I'm not planning to lose Luce." Natsu said

"The feeling is mutual Dragneel." I said
