I was leaving school when my principal, Mrs. Lenton, called me to the office. Slightly, suprised by the sympathetic look on her face, I coutined in to see a local police officer in her office....
With a puzzled look, I asked "Mrs. Lenton, in the most polite way possible to you and Mrs. Cop there, but what the heck am I doing here?"
"Miss Enora... Alex... Mr. Shawns has some... new...to tell you." Mrs. Lenton spoke in a tender, comforting voice.
"What is happening?!? Why does a cop have something to tell me!?!?" I screamed, panicked. Cops always meant bad news, or maybe good news that Bates got arrested.
"Miss...um... Enora is it? I am afraid to say that the bodies of your parents have been found in a creek." He spoke, slighty stuttering.
My eyes grew wide. My stomach lurched. My heart stopped.
"No...no..." I whispered under my breath in disbelief.
Rage and sadness grew inside me.
"NO!!! YOU AND ALL YOUR IDIOT COP BUDDIES ARE WRONG!!! MY MOM IS AT HOME MAKING FOOD FOR THAT EXCUSE OF A FATHER I HAVE!!!! SHE ISN'T GONE!!! .... she couldn't have left me..."
After that, I ran. And ran. Till I reached our...my apartment.
