The sun was beginning to set when Daemon and Lucerys finally arrived in front of the gate of Master Xaro's somptuous palace.

On the other side of the gate stood the beginning of a high staircase, whose steps of white marble shone in the bright daylight. They were sorrounded by beautiful gardens, filled with exotic plants and wild animals.

On top of the stairs stood a huge manor, with high vaults and coloured-glass windows. Huge balconies faced the city with white tents floating in the summer breeze. Lucerys wondered if one could see the other cities of the Bay from up there. On the outside of the building, many white pillars sorrounded the porch.

The whole mansion was a clear ostentatious display of its owner's wealth, a stark contrast to the poor neighbourhoods which composed the bigger part of the city.

Two guards, who stood in front of the two pillars composing the gate, greeted them. The linguistic barrier between the two parties lead one of them inside the building to fetch a translator, while the other guard signaled the two princes to wait.

After some minutes, the guard got out of the palace, accompanied by a dark skinned girl and other two guards.

Her curly brown hair was styled in a high ponytail, which, togheter with her dark, kind eyes made her look very attractve. She was wearing a white linen dress and wooden sandals, probably to endure the all-year long warm climate of the Bay.

She halted in front of them, the other guards behind her, politely smiling and bowing her head in sign of respect.

"Welcome, my Princes. I hope the city is of your liking. My name is Teanira. I speak several languages, so I will escort you through the High Palace today. My Master is waiting for you inside." Her accented voice was soothing.

She gestured the guards to open the gates. "If you'll be so kind to follow me, I will escort you inside."

The Rogue Prince sent his son an encouraging smile, before trailing behind the woman.

Once they got on top of the stairs, they stepped in to a magnificent hall. Golden, intricate designs ornated the walls and ceiling. Big vaults lead to an open balcony, which filled the room with light. Large carpets decorated with scenes of what -Lucerys supposed- were episodes of the city's history covered the floor.

Two large, low sofas stood one in front of the other in the center of the room, covered with cilindric, comfortable cushions, a low table supporting bowls of fruits in the middle of the two. Tall palms decorated each corner of the room, while a small indoor pool stood inground in the other area of the place.

It was unlike anything Lucerys had ever seen in Kingslanding, nevertheless in Dragonstone.

Him and his father stood in awe, taking in every detail of the environment, until Teanira announced the arrival of her Master.

The doors of the room opened and an average tall, tanned man walked inside. He was bald, the only hair covering his face, aside from his eyebrows and eyelashes, was a small, pointy beard. He was dressed in fine yellow and blue silks, with a golned belt surrounding his waist and golden shoes whose tips were curled upwards.

With a smile and a mischevious look in his eyes, he approached his guests, speaking quite fluently in the Westerosi common tongue: "Prince Daemon, welcome in Yunkai. I hope your journey went smoothly."

"It did, thank you for your concerns" The Rogue Prince smiled a little, even tho it didn't reach his eyes. He clearly didn't trust the man. "This is my son, Prince Lucerys, of the Houses Targaryen and Velaryon"
