I was sitting cross-legged in front of Vic, his fingers playing with the back of my hair, my laced around the back of his neck; our foreheads still leaned against one another. It was so perfect.
Suddenly, my phone went.
I smiled gently at Vic, before de-lacing my fingers, fumbling around to get the phone out of my pocket.
Shit.
It was Katelynne."Who is it, babe?" He glanced at my phone, and back up to my face. It made my heart skip a beat as he called me babe. I didn't know what to do, so I just rushed out of the bedroom, to the front door, and ran outside, slamming the door behind me. I picked up.
"You took your time." I heard Katelynne giggle down the end of the end of the phone.
I was silent.
"Babe?" She asked. Babe, that word again. And it had been used on me by two people that care about me in the last 60 seconds.
"Hey." I blurted out, "Sorry, bad signal." I coughed, lying.
"I see, how're things going?" I could hear a faint TV in the background; she must have been lying on the couch, and decided to call me.
"Yeah, good." I said quickly, "Things here are great, made some new friends and whatnot."
There was a slight pause, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm great. Absolutely perfect." I swallowed, replying to her, clenching my other fist.
"Kellin!?" Vic was banging on the front door, but I was leaning on it.
"Who is that?" Katelynne asked.
"Oh, oh no one." I was talking louder, to try and block out the noise of Vic banging on the door and repeatedly calling my name.
"Well it must be someone...?" She was on to something.
"Yeah it's just a friend; they want me on for practise."
"KELLIN!?" Vic raised his voice, "Who are you talking to!? Why aren't you letting me out?!"
"Kell, who the fuck is that? That does not sound like practise." I could hear her getting annoyed.
"I love you honey, I have to go." I said quickly, putting my mouth right next to the microphone.
"Kell-" I heard just before I hung up, taking my weight off of the door, with Vic bursting outside.
"Why did you stop me from getting out, what's going on!?" He threw his arms forward.
I stared at him, speechless,
"KELLIN, ANSWER ME?"
"It was nothing; I just need to talk to a family member...” My eyes slowly trailed to the floor.
"I heard you say, 'I love you, honey.' What family member was it?"
There was a pause.
"Answer me, god damn it!"
I sighed, rubbing my eyes, "My fiancé."
Vic stared straight at me; I looked up, any sign of emotion physically drained out of his eyes for just a moment, before he tensed his eyebrows. He was hurt.
"What's his name?"
"H---" I mumbled.
"What?"
"Her." I said louder, looking away, over the edge of the railings.
"I-I can't believe this...” His voice got weaker, cracking at places.
"Please don't be sad."
"Don't be sad, Kellin! Don't be sad!? You just kissed me, like no one ever had before. Did you not feel it!? Did you not feel the electric between us? The stati-" His voice broke off at the end, I looked at him. Tears had formed in his eyes, and one rolled down his cheek, "You-, you used me."
"No. No way, I didn't us-"
"Don't talk to me, Kellin. I can't believe you can even look me in the eye. Or even talk to her like that after what had just happened."
And before I could say anything to him, he turned around to go back into his flat, shouting in a blubbery mess, "YOU USED ME." And slammed the door, locking it.
I smacked my hands on the door, "Vic! Vic, please. Please just open the door." I continued slamming the palms of my hands on the door, "Vic!" My voice shattered at the end, but there was no response at all.A tear rolled down my cheek, as I turned around to look over the railings of the flat once again. I looked down at the ground. Vic's apartment was on the 7th floor, and I was a long way off the ground. A few more tears fell from my eyes, rolling down my cheeks, down to the ground. My head had gone from a low buzzing noise, to a screeching insanity. I clenched my eyes shut, taking in a deep breath as the tears got heavier in my eyes. Stop it. Stop the voices, stop the noise, please. I pleaded to my own head. Please. It was killing me. I felt like I was going to pass out. I was confused and distraught, but at the same time, empty.
I opened my eyes to look down at the ground; a force was pulling me forward over the rails. I smelt the air, and felt the sun on my face for what could be the last time.
Do it. Oh, please. Do it. My own mind was begging me, it will make things easier. It will end the pain.
"Stop, please." I shook my head, pressing my hands to my ears, as tears were still falling out of my eyes.
You've fucked up everyone’s lives anyway. It will solve things.I looked down into the traffic of busy cars and streetlights, feeling the rails,
before leaning forward.Sorry, that's all for now! Please remember to Fan, Comment, Vote, Add to Library and whatever. It's so nice to see people are beginning to read this, and I'm really enjoying writing it.
