-Kellins POV-

The drive home felt like forever, and it seemed like the dusty roads were endless. My eyes were beginning to go bloodshot from how tired I was. It had been a really, really long day and I just wanted to go home and see Katelynne. I was around ten minutes from home and it was really strange that I hadn’t received a call from her. Usually she checks up on me when I go on long journeys because it’s pretty dangerous travelling on your own when there’s no one around to hear a scream.

I noticed myself bobbing my head to The Maine’s new album, ‘Forever Halloween’ as the sun blazed across my skin and the wind skimmed over my hair where my convertible roof was down. I wasn’t far from home now, and all I could hear was Matty’s voice in my head from the phone call.

I glanced at myself in the rear-view mirror to check if it had looked like I’d been crying. My eyes were a little red but it just looked as if I were tired, which I was.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, I pulled up onto my driveway in sunny Florida. It was nice to see my house. I leaned back a little, admiring my home. My favourite place with my favourite people.

“Kellin?” A familiar, intricate voice caught me as I sat up in the car, “Why’re you just sitting out here?” Katelynne was standing in the doorway, wearing a long white summer dress with her hip length hair lightly curled and dancing lightly in the warm breeze.

I got out of the car instantly, slamming it shut and walking right over to her, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her right into my arms.

“Oh, wow. Hey, sweetie.” She sounded a little surprised at how quick I was to hold her, “You’re erm, early?”

“Hey.” I looked at her and smiled, sighing. “I missed you, so I’m back.”

She glanced up at my eyes before kissing my lips gently.

And that’s when I realised, something wasn’t right.

She laced her fingers through mine and pulled me into the house.

“How was  it?” She asked, walking into the open kitchen.

I sat down on the breakfast bar in front of her. “It was good.” I nodded, staring at my hands in front of me.

“Are you sure?” She raised her eyebrows at me.

“Yeah, why’dya sound unsure?” I looked up at her quickly, meeting her eyes.

“Matty called.”

My heart sank as the words came out of her mouth. What had he said? The last thing I needed was a lecture. I’m stressed enough as it is.

“He said me and you needed to sit and have a long chat as soon as you got back.” Her voice sounded like a mixture of impatient and worried.

“To be honest, babe.. I’m just tired. I need a nap.” I stood up and started walking to the door,

“Hold on!” She walked in front of me as I went to walk to entrance of the house, “You want a nap, but you’re walking to the door?”

“I’m getting my phone.” I stared at her blankly, “Is that okay?” I raised my eyebrow,

“Don’t be like that.” She screwed her face up, “You’re so blunt and sarcastic sometimes, Kellin.” She rolled her eyes and shook her head, walking out of my way.

I walked outside and leaned into my car to grab my phone.

Vic (1) Missed call.

Vic. Vic. I’d just forgotten about him for just one moment. Goosebumps developed on my body and a shiver went down my back as I saw his name, as well as my stomach flipping over entirely.

What did he want? I stared at my phone screen. Was he in trouble? I bit my lip hard.

“Kellin what are you doing!?” Katelynne stood on the front porch once again, “Are you trying to avoid me or something?” She threw her arms into the air.

I looked at her.

“I’m not trying to avoid you Katelynne.” I frowned, walking into the house behind her. “I mean it.” I swallowed, putting my phone in my back pocket, Vic racing through my mind.

“It seems like it. You haven’t been... You, since you’ve been here.” She titled her head,  folding her arms.

“You’ve been pretty off as well.” I raised both of my eyebrows,

“How so!?” She choked,

“You’ve been so snappy with me. And, paranoid.” My eyes were obviously hurt. I shook my head and sighed, walking over to the bedroom,

“No, no no!” She coughed, walking quickly over to me.

“What?” I turned and looked to her, “Am I not allowed into my own bedroom now?”

“No, it’s just.. Messy, and I want you to sleep in a nice clean, comfy bed.” She nodded, “The guest room’s all nice and done up.”

“Katelynne.. I don’t mind. I’d rather sleep in my own bed though.” I nodded, smiling,

“Kellin!” She sounded agitated,

“Thank you for the thought though.” I exclaimed,

“No, really.” She bumped in front of me, just as I was about to open the door to my own room.

Through the door I could hear, what sounded like someone whistling.

“What’s that sound?” I raised my eyebrow,

“What sound?” Katelynne dived in with the comment quickly, “I don’t hear any sound. You really do need a nap, in the spare room.” She nodded.

“Let me through.” I looked down at her.

She folded her arms and shook her head, “No.”

“Katelynne Quinn, let me through.”

“I’m not a six year old, Kellin! Don’t speak to me like one!”

“You’re acting so fucked up. Let me through!” I nudged her out of the way and opened the door to  see the sheets on the bed messed up, and clothes on the floor.

“Those aren’t my clothes.” I stared at the ground , before walking through the room to the en suite bathroom, so see him standing there, half naked.

My heart dropped so far into my body it felt like everything was a dream. I was actually in pain from the confusion as it all added up in my head.

I turned around to Katelynne, my eyes tearing up, “How could you?”

Her sight dropped to the floor, as I turned back around to the man that was now staring back at me.

Ben Bruce had fucked my wife.

Holy. Shit. Drama filled or what?! Poor Kell.
