Together As One

After an interesting day of losing to Sawyer yet mastering Ash and Greninja's battle form, Ash and his friends have made their way to Snowbelle City, the site of Ash's final gym battle, before he becomes eligible to enter the Kalos League.

POV Ash

"Avalugg is unable to battle!" announced the referee, "Greninja is the winner!"

"Color me impressed," chuckled Wulfric, the Snowbelle City Gym Leader, "That Greninja of yours is quite strong.

"Don't forget about Pikachu and Hawlucha!" I replied.

"You and all of your Pokemon have the fire that keeps you warm in the cold," laughed Wulfric as he took out the Pokeball of his last Pokemon. We were both down to our last Pokemon. Pikachu took out his Bermite and then his Avalugg took down both Pikachu and Hawlucha.

"You can do it Ash," cheered Serena from above.

"I have no idea what happened the other day, but Ash seems in perfect sync with Greninja," noted Clemont.

"Serena," snarled Bonnie, "What did I say not to do?"

"I fell off a cliff, no PDA required," explained Serena.

"What!" exclaimed the siblings.

"You didn't think to tell us till now?" asked Clemont.

"Ash asked me to keep it a secret because he wanted to show you two in this battle," winked Serena.

"Gross!" gagged Bonnie.

"That's not even what I meant," groaned Serena. I simply laughed at my friends' conversation as Wulfric sent out his final Pokemon, Abomasnow. Hail began falling from the ceiling.

"This will be an interesting matchup," explained Clemont, "Water resists Ice, but Grass is super effective against water. The hail with also chip at Greninja's health."

"Abomasnow, that's a COOL Pokemon," I joked at Wulfric. The gym leader let out a jolly laugh.

"Let's make this final battle a good one, Ash," grinned Wulfric. I nodded at Greninja.

"Wood Hammer!" shouted Wulfric. The snowman's fist formed bright green hammers. Abomasnow let out a roar before charging towards Greninja.

"Aerial Ace!" I yelled. Greninja's knees lit up with energy, but he did not move. At the last possible second, Greninja flipped out of the way of Abomasnow's fierce attack. Greninja struck the abdominal snowman in the back of the head and used the momentum to slide to the other side of the battlefield.

"Nice as ice," chuckled Wulfric, "Abomasnow, use Blizzard!" Abomasnow roared once again. This time a frigid wind was expelled from its body. I tapped my foot on the ground, which resulted in jumping out of the way of the wave of ice. 

"Nice dodge, Greninja!" shouted Bonnie.

"Look below you!" added Clemont. On the frigid battlefield were tons of sharp spikes of ice.

"Abomasnow! Use Wood Hammer!" exclaimed Wulfric. Greninja narrowly avoided the ice spike that was below him. Abomasnow suddenly appeared right next to Greninja.

"Block with Night Slash!" I shouted. Greninja was barely able to draw a blade of dark energy before Abomasnow slammed his fist into Greninja. My partner blocked a majority of the damage, but the force from the attack was enough to send him sliding. This time Greninja was knocked into one of the ice spikes on the battlefield.

"You've got a pretty strong bond with all of your Pokemon," noted Wulfric.

"That's the thing about us," I smiled, "We're just gonna keep getting stronger and stronger."
