"please welcome tonight's main couple, kim jiwoong and seok matthew!"
everyone applauds for the newly wedded couple running down the staircase, now dressed in matching white sweaters and blue jeans with light-up shoes. they had told everyone to bring a change of clothing so they wouldn't feel so suffocated during the dancing and activities portion.
the two make their way into the middle and dance to the song that was playing. jiwoong does a little dance that makes them all laugh at his silly moves and seems to be really enjoying the moment as well. he stops and then gestures to matthew, who moonwalks to the middle and into his husband's arms. together, they do a turn that results in the smaller being dipped down and coming back up into a kiss.
"they're such a cute pair," hao smiles as he applauds after their spectacle.
"i know. i feel like i'm watching a kdrama scene in front of me," hanbin replies. "i'm just happy this day finally came."
"hyungs! we got dessert!"
the students each return with a small plate filled with small pastries in one hand and a cup of punch in the other.
"are you sure you left some for the others?" the manager raises an eyebrow as they sit down. "seems like you dumped a full tray for yourselves."
"hyung, there's like a million plates on the table, we didn't take that much!" yujin reasons. "and besides, we saw people using the dinner plates to get dessert!"
"alright, but if you guys get a stomach ache or anything, i'm not liable and you have to explain to your parents it's your own actions that caused this," hanbin warns them. the four nod and start to dig in while getting into their own conversations.
"jeez, is this what it's like being a parent? making sure they don't die?" hao laughs.
"trust me, i know 1st graders more responsible than them," hanbin gives a concerned look at all the sugar being consumed. "hyung, what were you like as a kid?"
"you're asking this so suddenly," the other was caught off guard but came back. "mhm...i was always the quiet one. i wasn't exactly shy or didn't want to make friends, but i was usually the one who stayed and listened and didn't really talk."
"so, like how you are now?"
"i guess. i like to think i'm a consistent person although i've gotten better at being social. how about you?"
"the complete opposite of you. i was always the loudest one in my class and would want to play all the time, even when i wasn't supposed to."
"seems like you also haven't changed since then."
"honestly, i did. but being with the students made me bring my playful side again so i've been getting used to it again."
"that's what happens when you're surrounded by teenagers all the time. i think i've learned to conserve my social battery just so i can deal with them all day," hao jokes.
"you guys all came!"
the 6 all turn to see matthew and jiwoong walk towards their table and the four high schooler rush towards their former teacher.
"congratulations hyung!" they all shout simultaneously and start a bone-crushing group hug.
"i'm so glad you 4 came, i had to ask the caterer to make extra desserts because i knew it would be gone with you guys here," the canadian teases.
