As the Thursday morning came by, Phil and Brooklyn started getting ready for their brunch with Stu and Doug.
Phil woke up before Brooklyn at about 9:00, 2 full hours until they would need to meet their friends for brunch. He took the time to just stare at the beautiful woman beside him, still peacefully asleep.
It was crazy to think that if they never went to Vegas, they would not be there, finally dating after 20 years.
Brooklyn was his best friend. The person who knew everything about him.
And Phil couldn't imagine anyone but her being the one sleeping next to him.
"Baby," He whispered to Brooklyn, gently brushing her hair out of her face then wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her closer to him.
"Mm?" Brooklyn muttered, her eyes remaining closed but slowly waking up.
"It's wake up time," Phil whispered, still being quiet as his love slowly became aware of the world.
"Mm-mm," She muttered, slightly shaking her head and hiding her beautiful face in her pillow.
Phil couldn't help but smile. Brooklyn was absolutely adorable when she was sleepy.
"Yes, pretty girl. It's time to get up," Phil chuckled, repeatedly pressing kisses to Brooklyn's forehead. "If I make you coffee, will that help?"
Remaining still for a few seconds, Brooklyn slowly nodded. "Fine," She mumbled, slowly rolling over to her other side then upwards so she was sitting up.
Phil knew Brooklyn's morning routine. When she's waking up then stares at whatever is in her line of vision, you're not to touch her in anyway shape or form until she has her liquid energy.
Which is where Phil was headed that very second.
And once he comes back with her coffee—that he knew by heart how she likes—she'll start drinking it, then she'll pull Phil back into bed for a cuddle puddle until the clock read they had an hour and a half left to get ready for the day.
And pretty soon, they were out of the house and on the road to the designated breakfast establishment.
As Phil pulled into the parking lot, Brooklyn smiled at the sight of her brother getting out of his own car, Phil pulling in right next to Doug.
Smiling widely, Brooklyn embraced Doug in a large hug. "Hey man. How's it been? How's Tracy and the baby?" She asked as she and Doug recited their childhood handshake.
"Eh, it's been fine. She's getting more moody as time goes on, but luckily she can fly to Thailand," Doug answered, wrapping an arm around his sister as he then shook Phil's hand. "Phil, how's it been living with a cop? She bust you on anything illegal yet?" He asked with a slight chuckle as Brooklyn immediately pushed her brother away from her.
Phil chuckled, wrapping one of his own arms around Brooklyn's waist. "It's horrible, I had to hide all the drugs and guns without permits. The only time I can bring them out is when she's gone," He joked, to which Brooklyn then shoved her beautiful boyfriend away from her.
"Watch yourself," She threatened as Doug chuckled. Then she saw a familiar vehicle pulling into the parking lot, and then saw Stu getting out of it.
"Hello!" He said with an enthusiastic smile, wearing a black 'Journey' t-shirt. "Come on, let's head in, there's chocolate chip pancakes calling my name," Stu chuckled, an arm wrapping around both Doug's and Brooklyn's shoulders.
And then the group of 4 went inside and were seated, soon ordering their breakfast and/or lunch, beginning to converse then eventually receiving their order. After a little bit, Doug began to speak up again. "Hey Stu, there's something I wanted to ask."
