Chapter 16: Aftermath of the Mission

It's been two weeks since Team Kakashi returned to the Leaf, they had gotten back and told Tsunade that the mission was unsuccessful, but that doesn't mean they won't try again. We now find our hero, Taiyo, at Naruto's apartment, the two had a sleepover and stayed up really late.

Taiyo: (Wakes up and yawns) Man, that was a fun sleepover, even though we never did go to sleep until four in the morning

Naruto: (Tossing) No....no stop it...

Taiyo: (Looks at him) Wonder what's going on? (Gets up) I better wake him so we're not late

The teen goes over to Naruto and starts to shake him.

Taiyo: Yo Naruto, wake the hell up!

Naruto: (Opens eyes and sits up) "Sigh" It was just a dream...that's good

Taiyo looked at his brother and saw that he looked very spooked about something.

Taiyo: You ok?

Naruto: (Looks up at him) Yeah, I'm fine just a real bad dream

Taiyo: Wanna talk about it?

Naruto: (Scared) In the dream, I was in that form causing so much destruction and pain

Taiyo: (Scratches chin) Hm, that's interesting, I wonder if the fox is trying to tempt over like he did before

Naruto: Maybe, but I don't know. (Gets up) Come on, let's get out of here

Taiyo: Alright

The two leave the apartment and set off in the village, they found a couple of steps and sat down on them.

Naruto: How could he say those things to us?

Taiyo: He's been in darkness for too long and with Orochimaru being around him, there's no telling how much he's changed

Naruto: (Puts his face into his hands) I just wish I was strong enough to fight him, you were able to fight him to a standstill while he made us look like roadkill

Taiyo: I have confession to make, Naruto

Naruto: (Confused) What's that?

Taiyo: All this time since we've back together, I've been holding back the entire time

Naruto: (Shocked) Huh? Why?

Taiyo: I held back so that we could fight together and to not make you seem like you've nothing while I did something. I'm sorry I held back, during that fight with Sasuke, I wasn't holding back and that's why I was so equal with him

Naruto: (Puts hand on his shoulder) Why would you be sorry, if anything that makes me want to fight and surpass you even more now!

Taiyo: (Smiles) This is why you're my best friend and brother, we can always make you feel better

The two smiled at each other.

???: I can see you two are up late

The duo look over to see Sakura and Sai coming over to them, Naruto had an annoyed look on his face when he saw Sai, but Taiyo smacked his head.

Taiyo: Easy dumbass, remember he's with us fully now

Naruto: (Grumbles) Yeah I know, but I still don't really like him

Sakura: (Smiles) You'll never change, Naruto

Taiyo: (Smirks) How can he, he's lightheaded, get it?

Sakura: (Chuckles) That was a good one

Naruto: (Gets into his face) You take that back, jerk!

Taiyo: (Gets into his face) Why don't you make me, twerp!?
